31.05.2022 WORLD TAI CHI & QI GONG DAY Once again this year on April 30th at 10 am we'll be doing our tai chi in the park. To celebrate this occasion we have a new design. (available in 2 versions at https://www.redbubble.com/people/erickoo/shop)

15.05.2022 Autumn & Winter Training As from this week I'll be training on Wednesday morning 7:30 at St John's Anglican Church hall 14 Park Ave, Burleigh Heads.

10.05.2022 THREE VERY SHORT STORIES The first story apparently goes like this: a taijiquan master firmly rooted in the ground asks Bruce Lee if he can move him. A swift kick to the head and the master is lying on the ground. He has been moved in a way that was not expected. The second story is about Chen Fake as reported by Hong Junsheng. Chen said, the children of any person who has developed a famous art have the conditions for inheriting the art, but they don’t have the right to inh...erit it because it is not an object to be inherited by children or grandchildren. He thus moved away from tradition. The third story is about a taijiquan master well versed in a style who decides to follow a master of a different style. This simple fact actually is quite rare, as we all tend to believe that our style (simply because it’s ours) is the best and this belief tends to blind us. The common denominator of those stories is a shift in the point of view, due to an open mind. Question traditions, question beliefs, never cease to ask questions; experiment and check your results, keep what works and discard what doesn’t, there are no wrong questions, only answers can sometimes be wrong. The only true voyage of discovery would be not to visit strange lands but to possess other eyes, to see the universe through the eyes of another, of a hundred others. 13.01.2022 A TRIBUTE TO JENNY A long time practitioner of taijiquan, and later instructor, legend has it that once she drove 1700 km to attend a taijiquan workshop Wherever she might be now, her generosity, wit and kindness shall live on in our memory.

11.01.2022 T-RAINING A flashback to the atmosphere before classes recommenced. Preparing lessons in solitude.

11.01.2022 WEST & EAST Eric Koo There are whorls at the tips of our fingers. It is the same way on the toes of our feet and Winds exist on us here where soft spots are, where there are spirals These Winds sticking out of the whorls at the tip of our toes hold us to the Earth. Those at our fingertips hold us to the Sky. Because of these, we do not fall when we move about. J. K. McNeley, Holy Wind in Navajo Philosophy

05.01.2022 CONFINEMENT OR "KITCHEN" FORM Eric Koo A reminder of the main points (to be printed and put on the fridge...)

03.01.2022 CONFINEMENT OR "KITCHEN" FORM Eric Koo Due to the current situation preventing us from training together, and sometimes due to limited space, disregarding my low abilities and my ignorance, I have compiled what I have understood into this simple exercise. It's mainly intended for those who usually practice with us, but of course if anyone can get some benefit from it they are welcome to use and share it. As a student of the Art, I am open to any advice and suggestions from fellow practitioners.

02.01.2022 MASTER WU DEMONSTRATING SPIRAL FORCE In the Push Hands workshop in 2020, Eric asked about spiral Fajing after deflection. When the movement is small, the principle is the same, force needs to be penetrative and extending beyond.
