20.01.2022 OLD TAILEM TOWN GHOST HUNT (Saturday 5th July) Alison Here Firstly apologies for the length of time it has taken to get these up, but I have hardly been in th...e office this week so just playing catch ups now! Tonight’s tour had it’s moments for some tonight but for others it was a fairly quiet affair. My tour around the village was routine with only a small questionable incident in the Emporium when a mannequin fell and hit somebody in the back of the legs even though nobody was close at the time. It possibly could have just been a vibration from our movement although the last time this happened when a mannequin travelled 3m across the floor, nobody was moving. It was in the church though that one gentleman seemed affected and almost not with it. Hopefully he will tell us what was felt with the incident. Whilst our tour was traveling around the village, a small group of regulars went off to investigate. Here’s Kags version of what happened. Kag here Well, what can I say about our session in the church, other than fantastic. Everything was calm and peaceful until the ghost box was turned on. Not just the once, but every time. We had people being touched, cold spots, noises, a loud breath and a shadow definitely in a human shape. We could clearly make out the head and shoulders. It was not a really dark shadow, just slightly darker than its surroundings. Interestingly, not one of the K2s lit up. We won't mention the levitating pew as it wasn't paranormal, but the group will know what I mean lol. Exciting, scary and loads of fun. Thanks everyone. Alison again We then split into groups. I believe for the rest of the night, Ash’s group was fairly quiet???? If that is incorrect guys then feel free to fill us in My team, I can state was fairly quiet with not much to report, although it was great seeing some past guests from our Adelaide Gaol days back again after such an absence. As for Craig’s team, I will let him speak. Craig Here Our intrepid investigators started in the Emporium after an incident there on the tour earlier in the night where half a mannequin fell on two of the guests. No harm done, but whatever caused the mannequin to fall must have vacated before we arrived because all was quiet. Nadine even wandered into the dark alone trying to get some action (not that kind of action paranormal action!) but there weren’t any takers tonight. The Bent Elbow was also quiet. Things changed when we arrived in the Theatre. Our Mel-meter malfunctioned. The K-IIs were lighting up, and our Video Camera exhausted its second battery for the night. Something was up, and that something sat next to Kelly causing her to surround herself with other less-ethereal beings. The visitor also pressed against Kelly’s lower leg, but as luck would have it, poor Kelly had lost her voice and couldn’t get much interaction with the ghost box or EVPs. Next time, maybe.

18.01.2022 Ash here - Tonight’s tour was fantastic. A great group of people making the night most enjoyable. As always the night started off fun and jovial to turn into a silent creeping darkness by the time we got to the church... but that’s Tailem for you. The first piece of strange to take place was at the Bent elbow Hotel. One of the tour approached me just as I was about to let people walk through to tell me he noticed something strange - that a blueish face appeared in the window...Continue reading

17.01.2022 Saturday nights tour was a good one and although things started out a little quietly, by the time we got to Peake Railway Station there seemed to be strange noises starting up. Down along the train carriage, a few people heard some strange noises, knockings and rappings... - this being the same location where I had heard disembodied footsteps for the first time at TT so many years ago. The noises seemed to continue to let themselves be known right through to the conclusion of... the tour in the Wolseley Church... and then they continued through the investigation too. There were six for the investigation and we broke down into two groups. My group’s experiences started off very quietly and the ghost box was completely dead with no other audio anomalies captured except once again the knockings and rappings. We went to the other side of the town where it got a little more lively. In the Emporium we started to get hits on the EMF meters and appeared to get a number of responses through the ghost box. What was interesting about this is that the k2's would go off at the exact moments that we were getting responses which were relevant responses to our questions via the ghost box. We moved to the hotel after the Emporium went silent and it was at the far end that the two ladies in the group started to hear some noises, it was the fridge door opening on its own with a creaking. At the other end of the hotel, us gentlemen were chilled and comfortable in the sitting room lounges. It was as we were leaving that one of the group stayed back in the hotel for a minute as we waited outside. He just wanted to see if something may happen with only him in the front area. He soon left as the ghost box essentially told him too... Thanks to Brett from Paranormal Field Investigators for helping out for the night and a quick shout out to Glenn Sparkes from Office of Parapsychological Studies in the UK. It was lovely working with you. Here are your photos :)

17.01.2022 We decided that we would keep little video diaries on our tours too if we get anything curious happening. Paranormal... who knows but the events felt very real to the people experiencing them at the time. These diaries are for the people on the tour to see it from another perspective and also for your enjoyment. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kntYTDQUiEw&feature=youtu.be

16.01.2022 And so it was that after the tour had left on Saturday to go home... we remained to play a little... http://www.youtube.com/watch

15.01.2022 Playing catch up with the tour photos. Apologies for so long in posting these, but they can always be found updated on the Adelaide's Haunted Horizons site :) This was potentially the last tour for the year and with a great group of people as always. It is at this point we would like to thank you all for supporting us this year. You have all been incredible! We would also like to say Merry Christmas from all of us at H.H. Splitting the tour into two as normal, I set off with... my Investigation Tour to go and explore the village. For us, it remained quiet during the tour walk around, with nothing much to report. The Investigation team that Brett took, and I spent a lot of time with was pretty much the same quiet. Maybe Ted had gone off to visit family for the Christmas season who knows! Still, it was lovely spending time with great guests and it was especially good to see Lorraine back on our tour even if we didn’t have a puddle for her this time ;) (Lorraine will know what I mean!) lol Ash Here For my tour, much as Alison already said, it was fairly quiet with not much to report. After saying farewell to my ghost tour people, I moved on to take a team for the investigation. This started off quite active for us, with the ghost box providing some entertainment. As we gave our names it chose to repeat one of our guests, Tod's, which it also did again later in the night. K2's were also responding on command. We set three up on the floor of the emporium and asked them to go off in certain ways, certain patterns to which they obliged. This took place for quite a long period of time and proved to be quite interesting for the guests. We never got to check out the Bent Elbow while we were at that end of town as we never left the Emporium and the other end of the town, the church, was fairly quiet. The Schoolhouse was a little more interesting with a few odds and ends coming through but nothing definite. Here are your photos for the night :)

14.01.2022 Coming, May 16th to Old Tailem Town!

09.01.2022 Alison here - For this tour we decided to make an effort for Halloween season and once more we donned the blood and latex. Yes it doesn’t take much for me to get it out and Halloween is as good an excuse as any! It also amuses the tours no end. My tour started off with promise. As we have had many times before in the Bent Elbow Hotel, a lady became dizzy and off balance and felt like she was going to pass out, so we quickly got her outside on sat down.... After this though things quietened down again until the Emporium, where another lady felt like her hair was being stroked from behind even though she had nobody behind her. The church was fairly uneventful for the tour part although I think Ash and his team had some interesting responses later on in the night. It was after the coffee break and we had split into teams that Brett’s team seemed to get a few interesting things happening in the dentist. This is a place we don’t normally bother with but one gentleman had been in there during the day and felt an unnatural cold in there on a hot day. The responses they were getting seemed to be from Ted. Ash here It was a great night for a tour, quite dark and although it threatened to rain it held off for the majority of the night. My night started by taking a fairly large group through the village, telling them of our many and varied strange experiences. The tour enjoyed themselves even though there was an extra scare thrown into the mix. We also had a first for Haunted Horizons - one of my tour fell asleep in the Emporium... standing up! At the close of the tour, after the usual tradition of group photos and all that jazz, we headed back out the car park so I could see them all off. I then went into the church to give the tech talk, describing the gadgets we would be using on the investigation before we broke up into two teams. Usually it would be an even split but my team came in a large group and a fun group they were. We began in the Wolseley Church where the team appeared to make contact with young Ian who had drowned on the property many decades earlier. Interesting responses were coming from the ghost box and ovilus, responses that were relevant to questions being asked about young Ian and his tragic end. From there it was off to the other side of the village where we ventured into the Bent Elbow Hotel and The emporium. Not a lot seemed to take place for us in those two locations but I believe the other team had better luck. Here are your photos

08.01.2022 Alison here - This was a smaller tour then we have been used to lately, with the Christmas season taking up peoples time, but there was something refreshing about having a more relaxed tour and it helped that we had a group of lovely people, including our regulars Rob and Catherine who joined us once more . Unfortunately I think Ted, Ian and any other deceased personalities around the place must have been on holidays too, as the night remained fairly uneventful with not much ...Continue reading

07.01.2022 Alison here. The tours were great example on how one tour can go through the village and all remain peaceful, yet for some reason another seem to experience activity. For my tour it was largely very quiet as we walked around and almost peaceful as we walked through the brightly moonlit village. One gentleman in the Hotel did report feeling uncomfortable near the crates of bottles in the bathroom and complained of a strange odour there, but that was all there was to report on... the walk around. This peace appeared to continue into the investigation, with only small happenings to report. I believe a couple of our guests when walking in the street heard a small child calling ‘mum’ something which is an occurring theme at the Village, and for the investigation tour that was probably about it unless the guests would like to add? Ash’s tour that was following behind had a much different story to tell, so over to Ash. Ash here Tonights tour was quite interesting even if the 'hunt' component later in the night, was lacking in any strange evidence or experiences. We gathered at the front carpark and the mood was quite high being as my tour were made up from one booking - all working together - which always makes for a fun night. The oddities began in the Bent Elbow Hotel. The tour before us had one person catching a strange out of place odour in the laundry and half hour later when we went through it seems to have changed... what was experienced by two people on my tour was the stacks of bottles shaking quite a lot, enough to be very audibly and visibly observed. This got the group a little bit rattled. However it was the Emporium that proved to be the 'star' attraction. Several in the group noticed a cold spot moving amongst them, the temperature difference was quite drastic and was easily felt by whoever interacted with it. Then peoples’ hands started to get really quite cold - strange feelings were developing amongst the group then one started to get feverish, burning up. It seemed to go from person to person and made it quite hard to get through the stories due to the constant exclamations of shock and fright from the group. After this it all seemed to go quiet with essentially no activity during the 'hunt' except... funnily enough... temperature anomalies detected on equipment in the emporium. Thanks to all who came and we hope you enjoyed your night. Here are your photos :)

04.01.2022 This one was a special tour that we put on for some regular guests who went on, like some, to become friends, especially Nicolas, and two of our more local regulars/friends, Robert and Daniel who also joined us for the night to celebrate Daniel’s birthday Happy Birthday! After meeting at the Adelaide Gaol for a hug and a quick catch up, we kicked off at Old Tailem for the beginning of two nights of tours. The tour began very strangely, with some odd changes of mood and even ...with one of our guests becoming unresponsive for a short time at the Spare Parts Emporium. Another guest swore blind he had also been pushed in the back at the Manor House about the same time some of us heard a thud from outside. However after coffee it all seemed to settle down once more and the night became a lot quieter. Although we were only proposing to run one tour which was to be a more social event, a small group of locals rang at the last minute for a 2hr ghost tour, which Ash was more than happy to take around the village. Also there was a touch nervousness, Ash reported that the night was fairly quiet for them. Here are your photos :)

03.01.2022 Alison here As usual I took the Investigation Tour people around the village and Ash took the 2hr Ghost Tour. My tour appeared to be fairly quiet, without an awful lot happening, although one person appeared to be uncomfortable in the Emporium and two had to leave the Church after feeling like they had been touched. ... Once the tours were out the way it was time for the Investigation. This is where I handed the two teams over to Ash and Anna, with me floating in between. I will leave it to Ash and Anna to fill in any happenings. My tour went off fine with not really anything to report other than the fact that more than a few were a little anxious about the church and my backup for the night, Michael reporting that things had taken place in there for the tour ahead of us did not help that much lol. After the tour we split into two groups for investigation. What was interesting (for me anyways) was that my group wanted to go right into the back room of the church from the get go... a place quite a few people fear to tread. Throughout the night it seemed the group was making contact with one particular person, who seemed to follow them about through the town. The place appeared to stay fairly active and talkative through the night, only ending when we got to the hotel where it seemed to die down. Hi all Anna here Tailem Town was the venue and we began the tour with a lovely group of people. We were at the church when two of the ladies walked out of the church after they felt someone touching them. So we waited outside for Alison to finish the tour. After a break we teamed up and my team headed to the pub for the investigation. We had some interesting things come out the Ghost box but the name Nada that was heard several times took my interest, especially as the name of the owners mother. We moved on to the emporium where Alison joined our lovely ladies who were extremely pleased to have her there to hold on to!! lol. It proved to be quiet there, so we headed to the church instead. We had some of the group not wanting to go in to the church so we parted with Alison who took them in to the school yard and we headed into the Church. The Church seemed quiet so we decided to join the others in to the school . We had a guest take the teacher part and I will add here "she scared me lol" . Alison was the student to receive the cane for any wrong answers to the teachers sums and I believe if the hits were not that hard, from now on she certainly won’t be complaining as much as she did that night. Alas something likes her though, as after the first hit we got the right answers (really, I wasn't enjoying the sound of her getting hit HONEST :) After this the night came to an end . Thank you to you all that made the night I have to say how lucky I am to meet all you wonderful people as the year draws to the end of 2013 hopefully we will see a number of you all in 2014 .
