24.01.2022 And say hello to Elspeth, but you can call her Elle. Elle is a pilates loving bookworm, who secretly wishes she could list "cheese and biscuits" as her favourite hobby! She loves dogs, dark chocolate, hydrangeas and first-person storytelling. So in her own words...... "I’m a journalist, media junkie, and visual storyteller. Driven by a desire to make regional Australia a better place, I’m passionate about promoting its people and products. With a communications degree from the University of Technology Sydney, I’ve spent a decade working as a television producer, reporter and presenter for PRIME7 News, Seven News Sydney, Sunrise, The TODAY Show and NBN News. I love hearing and telling people’s stories, as well as the thrill of a deadline. I don’t love the sinking stomach feel of live TV, or the anxiety I feel before public speaking! Can you relate? I quit my job in 2018 because I felt frustrated and sad watching clever people stutter and shudder through interviews. With a deep-seated understanding of the regional news cycle, my media training is designed to build calm, confident and charismatic spokespeople. I also specialize in brand storytelling, whether it’s copy for your website, a video campaign or podcast. For me, the secret to a good story is crafting an emotional and enduring connection with your audience. My top three tips for anyone wanting to build a media profile is to be authentic, accurate and available.

20.01.2022 #mydroughtstory is a terrific initiative from Namoi Unlimited asking people to share their drought stories. I think everyone has a story. I sobbed in my car last week listening to an ABC New England North West story about a young girl from Bingara. She was selling art to raise money for her school friends who couldn't afford the end of year excursion . I know billions has been spent on drought support and water programs, but we must do better. ... We shouldn't be hearing stories about kids missing school to help feed stock. We shouldn't be hearing tales of teachers continually putting their hands into their pockets to help farming families. We shouldn't stay silent when we hear of hardworking people no longer taking medications or visiting the doctor because they need to save cash. We should shrug and say 'oh well'when small businesses are forced to lay off staff or shut up shop. With no drought-breaking rain on the horizon, it's time to take a look at drought support and make sure people don't fall through the cracks. #mydroughtstory #namoiunlimited

10.01.2022 Hello Luke! This is Luke, he's a Star Wars fan, gadget geek & film fanatic. He's also the creative brains at TAILOR MADE MEDIA and the hard-working bloke who takes our scripts and stories and brings them to life on film.... Luke started making films as a kid, using LEGO and a stills camera to make stop motion movies. He made them through school in Tamworth and university, in Sydney. MAKE IT RELEVANT - Use statistics and personal stories to illustrate your point. BODY LANGUAGE - Shoulders back and maintain eye contact! Don't fidget, slump or cross your arms! If you're nervous try holding your hands below your waist, otherwise gesture naturally and be yourself. Remeber, if you want to claim authority with your audience you need to be authentic. PRACTICE - Know what you want to say and practice your sound bites in the car/shower/anywhere! Ask a friend or colleague to help with practice questions.
