24.01.2022 DOUBLE POST INBOUND! Seniors took on Shep United last week at home. Unfortunately the lads couldn’t get the job done and we went down by 34 runs. On a big note congratulations to Aidan Callegari for taking the first 5fa for the year, which included a hat trick. Also for scoring his first 50 for the year and looking in tremendous form. Another big up to young Jacob Kinnane who filled in for us after playing juniors in the morning. Young Jacob scored his first senior run and re...mained not out at the end of play. Congrats to both the lads on their achievements. Juniors traveled to Nagambie for their game, and unfortunately went lost to a strong Nagambie outfit. The juniors have been working hard at training to turn the efforts around this week. Plenty of things to work on, but plenty of things that the coach and mentors are proud of with the young guns. Both teams travel to Tatura this week. Juniors play at Howley hard wicket and the seniors play at Tatura Park (Footy Oval).

23.01.2022 Both sides fought valiantly against their respected opponents but unfortunately we came up short. The Juniors hosted Karra/Pine Lodge at home for the game. Unfortunately they were unable to restrict the visitors. Jackson returned for his second game of the year and was in the runs again, as was co-captain Jonty. Benny O, Sam and Jonty all walked away with 2fas’ while Jacob and Alyse both took one. The team is showing a lot of promise and are forming a great bond. They won’t b...e far off joining the winners circle. Seniors took on Nagambie at home in what was quite an eventful match. Nagambie were bowled out for 134 with Xav Dowell taking his first 5fa for the year (5/20). The lads went into bat with 20 odd overs to face left on the first day. We were left reeling at the end of play at 6/43. Baldy and Scholzee were in the runs but couldn’t hold out. The following week saw a similar story as we were all bowled out for 94. Watzy top scored with 27 with a solid contribution from Xavier (second mention ). We sent them back in to attempt a reverse outright but play was called at tea as Nagambie finished at 4/89. Both teams fought hard, but will ultimately be looking for redemption for the final game before the Christmas break.

23.01.2022 Seniors are back in the win column! The lads traveled to Tatura for the ‘first’ two dayer of the season, and we walked away with an outright win over Tatura. Watzy walks away match figures of 11/34 with a career best of 8/17 in the first innings. Sioeli, Mitch and Aidan were all stand outs with the willow. It was awesome to get a win and than lads certainly enjoyed it. The juniors are still chasing their first win of the season, but they went down fighting against Tatura. Bot...h weeks the kids gave it their absolute all and we couldn’t be any prouder. Pick of the batters were Alyse and Tony, both playing some great shots and scoring runs. A massive shout out to Cohen Briggs (6 not out off 59) for playing a great support role to Alyse and the tail end. The O’Connells, Jonty and Jamo found themselves in the wickets column this week, and the team as a whole fielded superbly. Both teams will be playing at home next game, with Seniors taking on Nagambie and the juniors take on Karramomus/Pine Lodge.

21.01.2022 Apologies for the infrequent posts. Today the One Day GF was played at home against Numurkah, and boy what a game of cricket. But I’m proud to say that Toolamba are the C grade one day champions. Commiserations to Numurkah, you lads played hard and it was a brilliant game. Very worthy opponents and we look forward to the next time we do play against each other.... Watzy, Aidan, Sioeli, JD, Tina and Scholzee all reached double figures. But JD and Tinas partnership during the middle overs was absolutely superb. Great to watch guys. After a slow start in the field, we capitalised in the last over. Watzy and Xav bowling nice and tight, Locky and Tina bowling very well towards the end of the innings. We take home the choccys with enormous smiles on our faces. We are very proud of everyone who is apart of the Toolamba Cricket Club and this is for you just as much as it is for us. The focus now shifts to the remainder of the 2 day cricket campaign. Super proud of everyone!

20.01.2022 I’ve been sitting here, for the past hour trying to figure out how to put this into words. With the world in such uncertainty at the moment, its been hard to try and write this. As of the 26th of July and officially as of last night, It is unfortunate that I have to bare the news that the 19/20 season will be the last that Toolamba Cricket Club will be operating. After deliberation between the committee and long standing members of the club, we have thought it be best that we... go out on a high. After being awarded the One Day and Two day flags in seniors and our juniors continuously improving, it has been our swan song this year. We have endured many hardships over the years, and unfortunately it came to a decision that it would be best that we finish up this year. Since taking over the Presidency this year, it has been an uphill struggle. But I am so grateful for the players (past and present), juniors and parents for their support this year and for previous years. Since coming to the club in 2015, I have witnessed how close everyone who were involved at the club are and it is such an awesome thing. I would like to thank each and everyone of you, whether you were a past player, current player, parent or a supporter, for being apart of this ride with us over the years. I’m sure Justin (who I know pre-dates a few of the lads at the club) will have a few words to say in the coming days. But from the bottom of my heart I’m a so grateful for the opportunity and the experiences that this club have brought forward. I wish nothing but the best for everyone, and even in these times of uncertainty we still get out in the backyard or out to the nets and we still enjoy the game we love. Thank you for everything. Jack Scholes

19.01.2022 Both our sides went down this week but not without a fight. Super proud of the effort put in by our junior and senior side. Seniors finish the one dayers 3 for 4 and sitting atop of the one day ladder. Big shoutout to Baldy (51) and Dougie (another great support innings) for bunkering down and helping post a decent total against Numurkah. Watzy (3/7) was strong with the ball again. The Under 14s played on Wednesday night against Old Students. Although they went down against a... strong Old Students outfit. Plenty of positives to take out of the game. Jackson Barthold made a return to top score with 19 and took 2/7. Other big shout outs go to Benny O’Connell, Cohen Briggs, Sam McDonald and Jamis Godden for sticking it out and retiring not out. The kids dug in and done what the coaches asked and we couldn’t be more proud. Next week starts the two dayers for both seniors and juniors. We couldn’t be more excited!

14.01.2022 As stated previously the Seniors travel to Tatura Park to take on Tat. Looking to make amends for previous weeks, the boys are hungrier than ever to get back into the win column. Posted below is the team sheet. We welcome back Benjamin Grayham and Justin Dimond into the side for their first senior games for the year! In: Justin Dimond, Benjamin Grayham... Out: Chris O’Keeffe See more

09.01.2022 This game sees the lads back home at Toolamba against Nagambie. It sees Watzy step back in to the captains chair, Jacob come back in to help sub field and Jonty Tyquin make his senior debut! We are thrilled to have both the young colts step up. Along with a couple other juniors, they have been constant attendees at senior training, as they all will be pushing to have a dig in senior cricket. Apologies for the late team sheet post.

08.01.2022 Round 4 sees us away out at Numurkah. Only one change for the side as it sees Caleb back in and Tina sit this week out. Hoping to continue our strong start to the season In: Caleb Goodrum Out: Chris O’Keeffe

07.01.2022 The juniors started their campaign last weekend with a no show by the opposition. So it was nice for the kids to go out and have a hit and a trundle. They were two short this weekend and they certainly put up a fight against Northeners. Either way, there is plenty of promise within this younger Toolamba outfit and we can only go up from here. Next week for the Under 14s brings a mid-week game due to a soccer tournament on Saturday (Go Jonty and Jacob). It sees our outfit take on Old Students at Kialla #2 on Wednesday at 4:30pm.

03.01.2022 The lads are back at home for the first two dayer of the season. We take on Shep United starting at 1pm. Now comes the fun stuff and lets get back on the wagon after last weeks defeat. Edit: As Jamie Hawkins has pointed out, we welcome back Stringa for his first game this season. Glad to have you back in the colours mate. In: Benjamin Grayham (1st week), Chris O’Keeffe (2nd Week)... Out: Trav Parker, Caleb Goodrum See more

03.01.2022 Posted below is the team sheet for this weeks game. The lads travel to Lemnos to take on Pine Lodge for the last game before the Chrissy break. The lads are looking to bounce back after last weeks loss to Nagambie and finish the year on a high! Get around the lads

01.01.2022 For anyone who knew, or played along side of Harry Butler. Harry is currently in an induced coma in a Brisbane hospital as a result of a brain bleed. Harry was the player who invited me to play at this club. My first outdoor side. He’s an amazing man. Hard working truckie, family man (wife Denise, kids, grandkids), and was a brilliant pace bower with a very knowledgeable mind on field. There is currently a gofundme page running to help get Denise up to Qld. 2 weeks of hotel ...quarantine will be required before she can be with him. Any donations will be helpful. Thank you all https://www.gofundme.com/f/amvq2r-hope-lives-here
