19.01.2022 To our dear friends, We wake this Christmas morning with immense gratitude for the many visits, phone calls and messages of support received over the past few days. Our beloved Taj was burnt down last week. Thus far, investigators have suspected that this may have been the work of arsonists. We remain in shock and are heartbroken but find so much comfort in all of your kind and caring words. We are so grateful to have the support of such a wonderful community. A very heartfelt thank you to all who have kept us in your thoughts and stood with us in unity as we endure this distressing period. Setting up again from scratch has indeed been an arduous and demanding process. We extend our sincere gratitude to all of you for your unwavering support over the past seven weeks. Your messages and phone calls have provided us with the much-needed strength to persevere. We truly could not have done it without you! We are opening at 5pm on Wednesday... the 12th of February. 15.01.2022 Congratulations to everyone who participated in the ANZAC Day ceremonies yesterday. The Tajs own Colonel Nihal Mann and Colonel Virender Bhogal, both ex-servicemen in the Indian Army, marched at the Brisbane city parade! As we know, the 25th of April marks the day that Australian and New Zealand forces landed on Gallipoli in 1915, where they subsequently endured great hardships and suffered heavy casualties. Did you know that almost fifteen thousand Indian soldiers fought alongside the ANZACs at Gallipoli? We salute ALL those who have served, or who are serving, to protect and defend, locally, nationally and globally. #lestweforget

14.01.2022 The Taj team are a big pile of love tonight <3 So many of you took the time out of your busy schedules to dine with us this evening - that too, midweek! We were full house! Thank you ever so much to everyone who came out to support us on our opening night. Many of you have been with us for decades and we were thrilled to see so many familiar faces this evening. We are happy to say that the evening was a great success!

13.01.2022 To our dear friends, We are happy to announce that we will be opening up again soon at the temporary location of 720 Brunswick St (next door across the street, previously the Alibi Room). We are working relentlessly to gather all the bits and pieces required to open up shop again from scratch (due to the condition of the building, we have been unable to enter and retrieve anything that may have survived the fire). All of this would not have been possible without the support ...of our many wonderful patrons and friends whose unwavering loyalty has been a pillar of support for the past two decades, and remains so now, at our most difficult time. We have received so many messages of sympathy and kindness which have been truly humbling. We have even had some furniture donated to us for the new restaurant location. It has been a truly overwhelming experience in so many ways! We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services team who worked tirelessly to extinguish the blaze and prevent further damage to the neighbouring buildings. Every single visit, message and phone call has provided us with the much needed strength and energy to start again. The Taj has suffered extensive damage and we are in absolute shock and disbelief. Thank you all for the many loving phone calls and messages of support that we received this morning.
