Friends are great for having your back, making you laugh, giving you shit, going on adventures with but most importantly, introducing you to their favourite foods. And this beautiful spread is courtesy of @aindogs_burgers favourite dish, kottu (pronounced kot-thu). It’s a Sri Lankan street food dish made of roti, meat, vegetables, egg and a spicy sauce called salna and is prepared on a hot plate and chopped and mixed with spatulas or blades. It’s spicy, aromatic, hearty and super comforting. This iteration of the kottu comes from the legends at @takatakakottu where we headed to the @dandenongmarket one weekend and had their chicken and lamb versions (as well as some fucking lit Sri Lankan drinks called Necto). This is the kind of food I’d crave any day of the week, no matter the time or place. Now full disclosure, I have no frame of reference for traditional Sri Lankan food, but imma trust someone who grew up with this stuff to know what’s good and if he says it’s the best (outside the family home ofc), then this is the fucking best.
