02.01.2022 R u ok? Its easy to see this day as a bit of a fad. Something that finishes as quickly as it started. But its the most important reminder that, a) we need to look out for our friends and family all the time, and, b) its totally ok to not be ok. In fact its probably more normal to not be ok, than it is to be ok. I dont really know anyone that hasnt been through some dark times at one point or another. So if youre feeling really down and like there is no hope, believe me..., you are not alone. There is nothing to be ashamed of. Youve done nothing wrong. We are simply humans. And humans have big feelings that we often find hard to process and deal with. In my teens and early twenties I had some seriously dark times. Anxiety was not my friend. I honestly thought it would never end. But guess what....it did. And now Im proud to say that those times have in many ways turned me into a strong and resilient person that is understanding of others going through similar pain. You see...whilst you might feel like things will never change...by reaching out to someone or one of the amazing services set up for exactly this reason...you will over time find tools and channels to help you navigate the tough times. Not all the tools will work, but with time little things will change, and eventually you WILL see some light again. I still have my moments of course (Im human), but honestly, my challenging years have shaped me into one of the strongest and happiest people I know. So please make sure you mention it to someone if you dont feel ok. Or call one of the support numbers I posted in my story today. I have also tagged some of these organisations in this post.
