25.01.2022 #Aliyah #InFoster #Staghound #GiveaDogaHome Rise and shine! Im Aliyah, the 1-year-old female Staghound X, and Im on your Facebookz feed because I need to find... a forever home. Im currently in foster because being in kennels was not showing my best side to all the hoominz visiting...you know, cause all of the stress. Anyway, Im now in foster care and am getting glowing reports! Woohoo! All I want to do is make my hoominz happy. Since being in foster care I have discovered that I love behind the ear scratches AND belly rubs. I also like to hog the hoominz bed at night and also keep them snuggly warm! At the Refuge I used to be a little unsure of hoomin touch, but now I am SOOO much better. It took me a week-or-so to come out of my shell, but now I enjoy meeting many different types of hoominz. My foster carers have visitors sometimes and although I initially bark when theyre at the door (because Its my job to protect my foster carers), once they come into the house, I get really excited to meet them and receive pats from them :) I love food, so its going to be pretty easy to train me. Im already a good girl, but theres a few extra things I could learn. Im interested in meeting other dogs, but I will need some help with this as Im either way too interested in a dog or not interested at all. I just really wanna find a hoomin who can teach me how to make doggy friends properly. I think Id be ok with full-time workers, but my exercise needs will definitely need to be met for me to contently sit at home by myself for 8 hours a day. Right now Im having 2x 45min walks each day and Im coping very well being left alone for 8hrs each time. I also love puzzle toys for when Im home alone! One last thing, because Im a bit excitable at times, my foster carers reckon that I could be a bit too much for the really young kids. So, please dont delay! Call 9381 8166 to organise to meet me! Lots of love, Aliyah #dogsrefugehome #dogsofperth #rescueisthebestbreed #rescuedog #AdoptDontShop #dogsofinsta

25.01.2022 Murphy came with Yardie and I to Charles Riley today and as the sun was out the park was very busy. They were both much quieter on the car ride home!

24.01.2022 Yardie was like a kid in a candy store today when Aunty Jen and Aunty Ali both brought 4 doggie friends each for her to play with at Millington Oval.

24.01.2022 Penny enjoyed herself at Brittania yesterday. Only managed to get one photo of her with her playmates but I think the photos show she had fun fun fun!

24.01.2022 Yardie had the best of both worlds today at Charles Riley with dogs walkers Jenny, Ali and Pat all there with familiar doggie friends for her plus several new dogs she hadnt met before. Much fun for all!

23.01.2022 Its not often Penny and I see other pooches in the offlead area at Lake Monger but today she had a great playmate in gorgeous Shepherd X Dingo, Shelby.

22.01.2022 Ivy and Fluffy had an adventurous afternoon this week at Daglish Park, playing with not only Jennys crew but also gorgeous young dogs, Bobby the Ridgeback and Moses the Swiss Shepherd. My Dad also came along so had to have his photo taken with my dogs. Thanks to Jenny for most of these pics.

22.01.2022 Duke in his doggy Jammies amongst the spring flowers.

19.01.2022 Just a quick post to assure you all that we did finally get on the road and our Tally girl has taken to camping like a duck to water. Hope you and your pooches are all doing well.

18.01.2022 Unsurprisingly Duke wasnt impressed with the weather on our walk today and much preferred to play Find It (with treats) both inside and out. Hes actually getting very good at it - he could give the sniffer dogs at the airport a run for their money - as long as he only had to find food!

17.01.2022 As excited as I am about embarking on our extended road trip I also feel sad having to put Take the Lead on hold as I will miss all my doggie clients and their lovely pawrents. Ive tried to find pictures of them all and apologise to any Ive missed (blame two phone breakages over the 5 years Ive been in business). Thank you to everyone for their support, especially my clients of course but also you FB followers and friends Im always talking to about these beloved pooches. They all have a special place in my heart. Hopefully Ill see at least some of them on our return whenever that may be.

17.01.2022 Fluffy and Ivys little adventure this week - playing with Jennys crew plus Bobby the 6 month Ridgeback and Moses the one year old Swiss Shepherd. Oh and my Dad whos in town. Thanks to Jenny for most of these pics.

15.01.2022 Tally made it to the Tip (and so did we)!

15.01.2022 My Maxi and Moss post from early last week seems to have disappeared so here it is again. We had 4 walks together in various parks and met up with various playmates for them. Always a delight those two.

15.01.2022 Wolfy watching the paddle boarders on an absolutely stunning winters day.

14.01.2022 Meet newest training client Hunter who is apparently a purebred farm border collie but has the longest legs! Hes now former (and sometimes ad hoc casual) client Zorros new stepbrother. Lovely natured and very smart, I think he will be a breeze to train.

13.01.2022 #DearDiaryDay #Gyro #AmericanStaffy #Gypsy ADOPTED Dear Diary,... It's just me, Gyro. Today is Dear Diary Day, so I thought it was time I pulled out the old pen and paper and jot down how I feel. Well...I've been alive for 2 years and so far, life hasn't really gone to plan. Ending up in the pound and realising that the people I loved so much weren't coming to get me...that was pretty heart-breaking...then to be shipped off to a shelter and realising that even advertising me to thousands of people, no one wanted me. Anyway, I don't want to be too doom and gloom. Some pawsitives did occur. I found some great foster carers...but they've just gone on holiday, so I found myself in the car off to yet another place...a temporary, temporary foster carer until my other carers get back from holidays. I live out of this environmental shopping bag...my whole life is in that bag. My kong, leash, my fave rope toy, my doggy biscuits, my jar of peanut butter and bedding. I'm not really sure what permanency feels like, but I'd really like to find out very soon! My temporary, temporary foster carer is really lovely...so that's great news! When I first met her the other night, I was overflowing with emotion. I was happy but a little nervous, but mainly happy cause I wasn't going to be sleeping in a kennel for the night! I got a little bit too excited, but she made me up a kong with biccies and peanut butter and I took to that like a baby to a pacifier. Once I get over my initial excitement, I'm a pretty good boy. I know I'll probably need a bit more training, so hopefully someone out there won't mind that I'm not 100% pawfect...after all, I've been like a gypsy most of my life. In my regular foster home, I've met with a few other dogs and I always try to be polite. Usually I just ignore most dogs, but sometimes I can be a little bit too full-on. I keep getting asked if I want to live with kids and I really don't know! I've never lived with them before and I worry that I may be a little too excitable at times and I could knock them over or something...I am a bit of a "boof head". Well Diary, I best be getting back to the living room with my temp, temp foster care. Thank you for listening to my thoughts...I feel better already! Regards, Gy #dogsrefugehome #dogsofperth #rescueisthebestbreed #rescuedog #AdoptDontShop #dogsofinsta

12.01.2022 My Dad got one last walking day in with me yesterday before they had to leave. Here he is admiring the wildflowers with Koga in Kings Park Bushland and having lunchtime cuddles with Lillie.

12.01.2022 It's giving me great pleasure to walk Fluffy the Groodle this week who I met as a puppy and hadn't seen since. Boy has he grown! He is an absolute delight and had a fabulous time with about a dozen new friends he made at Cliff Sadlier Reserve. Photos courtesy of Jenny from Perth Dog Walking who met me there with some of her dogs for a play date.

12.01.2022 Another video of Lemon.

12.01.2022 Koga enjoying having Mueller Park completely to himself today. Expected us to get wet (hence the raincoat) but we even managed a bit of sun. Loved the flowers that are blooming in this particular patch.

11.01.2022 This week I wanted to get photos of me WITH some of my client dogs. I sure will miss them all. Final post to come...

10.01.2022 Had my last walk with Ivy this week. Her Mum is working from home again which is great for Ivy. We had a couple of good outings at Brittania this week and last - will definitely miss the little tyke.

10.01.2022 Last Lemon video.

07.01.2022 Week 5 with Lemon and apart from his obsession with chasing birds he is doing very well with his training, in particular the agility equipment. This week was our first try without luring (with treats) and he did amazingly well.

06.01.2022 My favourite pics from this week - Wolfy with a rainbow and Lemon with a big storm cloud - somehow we didnt get wet that day!

05.01.2022 Hanging out with my lunch buddies - Oscar & Lillie.

04.01.2022 Yardie having some fun with Jennys pack last Friday - Caeser, Kobi, Bronte, Hamish & Murphy.

04.01.2022 Meet lovely Lexi who Ive done some training with during the last month. Lexi is a 2 year old German Shepherd/Ridgeback X who can be a little unpredictable with some dogs. Her Mum is a great student so Im confident she will have Lexie on track with the dedication and patience she has shown thus far.

04.01.2022 You know its cold in Perth when Wolfy needs her PJs on.

04.01.2022 Another agility video with Lemon.

03.01.2022 Had an SOS from Ivys Mum for an extra walk yesterday, then Jenny of PDW offered to meet us at Brittania with her last group of the day plus also kindly picked up my girl Tally who was fascinated with Ivy for some reason. Was great to see Cricket again too.

03.01.2022 Some selfie fun with my lunch buddies, Lillie and Oscar during our last walk/visit.

02.01.2022 I tried to give Sarah & Buster some extra time out while their humans were on holidays last week. Heres some action shots of them letting off some steam.

01.01.2022 Penny had fun at Brittania yesterday - along with Jennys crew she also took a special interest in a gorgeous husky x bull Arab called Lokie.
