21.01.2022 Are You Being Tracked Through Your Smartphone? This Is How To Find Out Almost everyone has a smartphone nowadays, and it is hard to imagine a world where they do not exist. Smartphones have made life immeasurably more convenient for millions of people across the world. However, as people put more and more information into these little devices they often do not realize just how vulnerable they are to infiltration. Unfortunately, these machines are not only convenient for the u...ser but also hackers or anyone how might like to track another person’s whereabouts. How to hacker-proof your smartphone Wondering whether someone else might have access the information on one’s phone is disconcerting, but fortunately, there are a number of ways that a person can protect themselves from being spied on. The most simple way that a person can protect themselves and their online information is to use their common sense and be careful about what kind of information they are making accessible to the wider world. Being careful to guard one’s email address and phone number when filling out publicly available forms and always be careful about privacy settings on photographs. Secondly, ensure that you are not installing unknown programs onto your phone by keeping a close eye on the apps that are installed. It is also important to never click on links which show up as being unsafe as these can be used to install malware, as can suspicious looking ‘free’ charging points. It is equally important to be on one’s guard when websites and applications offer to find the location of your phone. This can be used for criminal purposes and therefore it is wise to only use location trackers when it is strictly necessary and from a trusted application. Anyone who is concerned about their messages to other people being intercepted might also consider using messaging apps which are closed off to outsiders such as Telegram, Chare, Wickr or Signal. Even the most safety conscious person can still slip up and make a mistake which could leave their device compromised. Thankfully, there are a number of codes Android users can make use of to find out if anything is amiss with their phone. *#21# This code allows users to find out whether their calls, messages or other data is being diverted. The status of these diversions will be revealed after keying in the code along with the number where the information is being transferred to. *#62# This code will show the user where their calls, messages and data are being diverted to if it seems as though nothing can get through. Ordinarily, in cases like these, the calls are being diverted to a cell phone operator’s number. ##002# If the above checks lead a user to find they their information is be diverted then this is the universal code to switch off all forms of redirection.

08.01.2022 Please like & share this! More people need to be aware as there are too many people getting caught out & falling victim to these scams! Phone scammers pretending to be Telstra (they are definitely not Telstra) have been phoning people for a while now & telling people that their internet or computer or similar has a problem & that they need to remotely access your computer to fix the issue. These scammers have often changed their tactics to claim to be from various companies s...o still be careful regardless of where they say they are apparently calling from & be careful even if their reason may be different to those mentioned in this post. After they gain access to your computer they have access to various personal info & we have seen a growing number of people caught out by this scam in the past few months. The scammers will often threaten that your internet or computer will stop working or something similar (if you don't allow them access to your computer) amongst other threats which are completely false & bogus. They often also ask for your email passwords, internet banking info & so forth which is very dangerous for the person involved. The scammers will often ask you to pay for their services using iTunes cards, which some people have unfortunately done before realising that they have been scammed! If someone you don't know rings you out of the blue & tells you something is wrong with your internet or computer or so forth, please don't fall for it! https://www.scamwatch.gov.au//dont-gift-a-scammer-itunes-c See more
