20.01.2022 The Snowy Mountains region is home to some of Australia’s most unique landscapes and the equally unique characters that inhabit them. One such character, our pa...rt-time staff member and full-time guide for Aussie Fly Fisher, Mickey Finn, known for his big fish energy and winning smile. He may be a bit of an enigma wrapped in a riddle wrapped in waders to most, but this short film will acquaint you properly. See more

13.01.2022 Hi all Thought I would share yet another special moment that we had up the mountain this week with you all.It was early,it was frosty when we set off on a hike.... We head off to an area specifically to try and spot an Alpine Dingo as we hadn’t seen many post fires and to our surprise there was this beautiful dingo.God only knows how long it had been watching us as it was very well camouflaged,we only saw it when it moved as we got closer to it. Absolutely gorgeous,we slowly followed it trying to get a closer pic but the dingo kept a good distance between him and ourselves. Pics are a bit blurry as the dingo was far away, still it was just awesome to see the Alpine Dingo just going about his business up where he belongs. While watching the dingo a few brumbies came waltzing past. The brumby had a good look at the dingo and vice versa,I’m sure they are used to each other’s presence. It was so so good to see this Alpine Dingo as we feared many had died in the fires as did the brumbies.May he live out his days in peace up in the mountains where he belongs Love the mountains and its wildlife xx Michelle See more
13.01.2022 Tom’s Outdoors 12 Days of Christmas in the Tumut region - Episode 9 Another re-release but so worth watching again. This one stars our favourite fly fisherman @...mickey.finn who oozes the positivity we all wish we had in 2020. His charismatic zeal cannot be faulted nor can his love for the Snowy Mountains; and of course fish! See more
13.01.2022 Tagged Rainbow Trout Yearlings for Blowering Dam! One thousand yearling Rainbow Trout have been stocked into Blowering Dam as part of a long-term stocking strat...egy to combat predation from redfin and to provide information on survival and growth. The fish were produced at DPI’s Gaden Trout Hatchery and range from 150mm to 230mm. Blowering is a fantastic native and trout fishery and finding the best size for stocking in the presence of redfin will help to maintain the dam as a great mixed fishery. Recreational fishers who land one of these trout will be rewarded with a Wigston Tassie Devil lure prize in return for their capture information. This information received will help determine survival and growth rates of Rainbow Trout and can be lodged on https://bit.ly/35DSvsa This release is part of our tag recapture program which includes tagged fish releases into Oberon Dam, Lake Lyell, Lake Wallace, Carcoar Dam and Khancoban Pondage. This is another great example of your licence fees at work! Photo credit Rhys Creed.

V...isit our pop-up stall at the Talbingo Shopping Centre on Monday 30 November between 3:30-6:30pm or access the online form and view the plans here https://bit.ly/3fG16gT BACKGROUND Earlier this year co-funding of $1,350,000 ($850,000 from Department of Planning Industry and Environment (DPIE) and $500,000 from Snowy Hydro) was locked in to create a designated swimming area, improved boating facilities, picnic areas, carparking and foreshore access at the Talbingo Dam Boat Ramp.
