23.01.2022 Great news for our club.

23.01.2022 363 days ago I started planning for this week, this weekend, today, Grand Final Day... Yes it was going to be busy, stressful and bloody exhausting but its worth it! This week should have started with Berry Powell, been followed up with training for our grandfinalist teams, plenty of banner and pom pom making (always optimistic), a massive packing day yesterday, a very early Saturday morning as we run the GF Day canteen and lots of cheering and celebrating for what was suppo...sed to be an enormous year at Talbot FNC. I'm not sure about everyone else, but last night I laid in bed feeling a little sad and empty missing our wonderful Talbot family. The big TFNC family you are part of. For those of you that had planned to join us this season, make sure you are part of 2021. Its going to be amazing, exciting and a year to be part of. And so now, the countdown begins again. Bring on GF Day 2021! - Kendall

20.01.2022 Apparel Update : In some extremely disappointing and frustrating news, we have been notified today that the previous Icon area rep that was managing our apparel order has failed to follow up our order. As a result the new area manager has just followed it up and requested immediate production for us. We would like some input as to what everyone wants to do. ... 1. We can proceed with the order and reassess what's going to happen in 2021 (design and supplier) OR 2. Cancel the order and refund payments and then start from scratch for 2021. As mentioned above this is extremely disappointing and frustrating for everyone. We have continued to follow this up as best as possible and this is the newest information provided. Please comment below or inbox the club with your response to the above as soon as possible. We will need to advise a decision Monday morning.

10.01.2022 Senior football training concluded for 2020 with another good session tonight at Victoria Park in Ballarat. Mez will get some running and training ideas out to people to chip away at in the off season before we resume for 2021. It’s with great pleasure that we can announce another new signing for the Hawks, with Sam Hitchings joining the Hawks from the Darley Football Club for 2021. Sam was kind enough to answer some questions below. 1) Welcome to Talbot for season 2021 Sam.... I know you’ve got some connections at the club already, which we will talk about later, but what attracted you to the prospect of signing with our great club? Sam: Romeo coaching and playing with some old team mates from Ballan attracted me the most and am looking forward to hopefully playing finals and pushing for top 4. And after being a tough year in 2020 looking forward to getting away and trying something new and heard nothing but good things about Talbot FC 2) Can you fill us in in where you have played previously and any personal or team accolades you’ve achieved? Sam: Played all my juniors at Darley then into seniors playing around 60 senior games there then moved to Ballan and played around 80 or so games there. 3) Can you describe to our Facebook followers what type of player you are and what position do you hope to play next year? Sam: I'm an outside player and my strengths would be my ball use, decision making and my endurance. Mainly play midfield/wing but have played pretty much every position, but hopefully play mainly mid this year. 4) You’ve played with a number of our current players previously at Ballan. Who are you most looking forward to linking up with again on or off the field and why? Sam: Looking forward to getting on the end of Zac Graham’s kicks and getting the hands out from Akka in the packs. Fast 5 1) AFL Team supported? Sydney Swans 2) Any pre game superstitions? Too many to say 3) Nickname and why? We'll just go with Sammy haha 4) Occupation? Chemical Terminal operator on the wharf 5) What three things in life could you not live without? FIFA on PS4, Sports and Family

08.01.2022 Please be advised of the upcoming Talbot FNC AGM, to be held at the club on Sunday 29 November, 2020 at 10:30am. To ensure as many people as possible can participate, we plan on having the meeting outdoors where more people can gather, observing social distancing. As you may be aware, the committee has recently participated in a series of workshops auditing the club's structure and operations, and we're excited to share these changes with you all (stay tuned for some upcomin...g posts) and begin to implement the recommendations and suggestions to further strengthen the club. It's been a long time since we've seen each other in person, so we're hoping this will be a perfect opportunity to get together and hear some of the exciting initiatives planned! If you're interested in attending, please contact Kendall on the below number to register your interest, so we have an idea of numbers. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

06.01.2022 Last night our exec team joined a fantastic webinar presented by Terry Dillon from TDS Solutions. We have also been lucky enough to secure some funding to cover the costs of a specially designed workshop for Talbot FNC by Terry Dillon. This is a fantastic opportunity for our club that will assist in implementing a number of forward planning, structural and financial strategies for our club. ... But we can't do it alone. We want your input. Our workshop will be held online through a zoom meeting and we want you to join. Yep every single one of you. Players, parents, supporters, committee people. 05.01.2022 We welcome back Matt Smith and Lachie Griffiths for season 2021. Both are well respected club stalwarts who are invaluable to our club on and off the field. Matt will be taking up the role of coaching coordinator in a restructure of our football department. These changes will be revealed after the AGM. Lachie will be joining Daniel Romeo as part of his senior coaching team. More additions to our coaching structure will be announced soon. Go Hawks.

05.01.2022 Talbot Football and Netball Club is moving forward in many ways as we leave a season like no other (Damn covid) Not only as a club but also as a league we face a challenging year ahead. Player and volunteer retention and involvement we be a large part of our efforts in preparation for season 2021. ... There is a new committee structure and lots of planning going on within the club as we look to capitalise on our strengths and find areas of improvement. As I hand over the president position to Dallas I wish him all the best, there is a great support team within the club and I’m sure Dallas will bring a new level of leadership and strengthen the future of our club. I need to thank all those who have supported me and the club during my time as president. Volunteers, committee, players, parents but particularly my wife First Lady Janet for putting up with me. I have always tried to do my best for the club and ask that if anybody is thinking of taking in a bigger role in the running of the club but think they might leave it for a year or two to think again and step up to the mark, there is plenty of support to make sure the task is manageable. Like many I’m looking forward to next season and believe the Hawks will be stronger then ever going into 2021 I’ll still be around the club, just in a different role. Thanks for the privilege Darren Murrell
