17.01.2022 Digging the dirt efficiently and stockpiling it neatly to enable the best possible ore supply to the processing plants is the aim of a newly completed and award winning short video created by the Talison Geology and Survey teams. The video, prepared by Dan Warman, Shaun Davis, Jonathan Lamb and Cody Garstone to be used by new starters, existing personnel, contractors and machine operators across the site, has earned the mining team members the inaugural Talison Employee R...ecognition Scheme (ERS) Award. The ERS is a new initiative introduced in 2020 by GM Craig Dawson and the management team to recognise employees who make a significant contribution to occupational health and safety (OHS) performance, sustainability practices, innovation and technology improvements, cost improvements or just going beyond the requirements of their substantive role. 17.01.2022 The Public Mine Lookout upgrade will be officially opened on Thursday November 5. From then on it will be open 8am to 5pm daily.

17.01.2022 Talison Lithium has joined the Chamber of Minerals and Energy WA COVID-19 Community Support Initiative. The initiative has provided close to $7 million in financial support to the Royal Flying Doctor Service WA, Foodbank WA and Lifeline WA. In addition to this financial support employees and contractors at Talison Lithium’s Greenbushes Operation got together to run a site-wide food drive for the Bunbury Foodbank Depot, collecting over 145kgs of essential supplies including dental hygiene products, baby formula and a variety of canned good and meal staples.

16.01.2022 Environmental Technician Jeniffer has been able to develop a career in her chosen field without moving away from her rural hometown of Bridgetown. In 2018 Jen started as a Laboratory trainee at Talison Lithium’s Greenbushes operations with the hope that the workplace experience and formal qualification gained would be a constructive step towards a career in the environmental field. Jen has progressed through to an environmental monitoring role within the Talison Environmental Department. With the support of her colleagues, Jen is focused on developing her job-related skills and is investigating possible options for further education. Good luck with your career development Jen!

15.01.2022 The Talison Public Mine Lookout was officially opened on Thursday November 5 with Greenbushes Primary School students, Talison staff and members of the community present to enjoy the event. Retired long term Greenbushes Mine employee Barry Perks carried out the official opening. Barry worked at the mine from 1965 to 2007. The Lookout will now be open between the hours of 8am and 5pm daily to provide people with a birds-eye-view of the open cut pits.

15.01.2022 After 34 years at the Greenbushes Operations, Andy Hladio celebrated his retirement with colleagues on Thursday the 29th of October. Andy was first onsite with Greenbushes Tin way back in 1982 as a Boilermaker and started his continuous employment in 1986. Long term employees form the backbone of any organisation and Andy will be sorely missed from the Talison family.

The Skin Check Tool issued by iamskincancer.com is endorsed by the Melanoma Institute of Australia to assist people to check their skin using an ABCDE system. A is for asymmetry, B is for border, C is for colour, D is for diameter and E for Evolution. The little kit card provides a magnifying sheet which enables people to self check or check their family members using the guided process. 13.01.2022 Talison Admin team members are putting together a monster raffle to raise funds for DollysDream cyberbullying awareness and action. Donations are being sought from Talison contractors, employees and other businesses throughout the South-West. Staff will then donate their time to sell raffle tickets throughout the South West over a three- month period. DollysDream was set up in memory of Amy Dolly Everett, who at age 14 took her own life after an extended period of bullyi...ng particularly cyberbullying. Money donated to Dolly’s Dream is used to raise awareness and provide a parents’ hub to support families and help protect them from going through the same devastating experience. Welcome to Shelby Waters (Laboratory Trainee), Lewis Riching (Electrical Apprentice), Amy Lindberg (Infrastructure Resources Trainee), Bonnie Butler (Laboratory Trainee), Tristan Berghuis (Stores Trainee), Kallee Burkett (Work, Health and Safety Trainee), Shona Fluck (Administration Trainee) and Jade Miller (Mechanical Fitter Apprentice). This year's trainees and apprentices are from Bridgetown, Greenbushes, Donnybrook and Balingup.

08.01.2022 Talison Lithium’s General Manager Projects, Pat Scallan OAM, has retired after 25 years at the Greenbushes mining operations. During his time at Greenbushes Pat has seen many changes including expansions and contractions at the mine and name/ownership changes. Pat moved to Greenbushes from Capel in 1996 to take up position of Tantalum Manager under the Sons of Gwalia badge and by 1997 was General Manager of the company’s Greenbushes Operations. During his time at Greenbush...es Pat was involved in many development projects at the mine and most recently headed the team behind the Chemical Grade Expansion Project (CGP 2). He also played a large part in developing projects for the community and served as a councillor on the Shire of Bridgetown Greenbushes for 18 years. Pat has retained his position on the Board of the South West Development Commission and is looking forward to spending more time with family. 08.01.2022 The victorious Bridgetown Cricket Team (fourth time premiership winners in the Warren Blackwood Competition following the 2020 Grand Final) showed their appreciation to Talison for sponsoring the team in the 2019-2020 season with an impromptu presentation this week. The Bridgetown team had a great season and defeated Pemberton in a home Grand Final on 14 March. Final scores were Bridgetown 6/105 d Pemberton 10/104. Despite a late batting collapse the Bridgetown side finished the match with overs to spare.

07.01.2022 The Talison girls and guys scrubbed up well in blue at the Women in Mining (WIMWA) Summit at the Perth Stadium last week. The Summit featured inspiring speakers, panels discussing a range of issues and an opportunity to relax and network. The Summit is all about retaining women in the resources sector and showcasing the persistence, passion and dedication of women in mining.

05.01.2022 Congratulations to Matilda on her Graduation! Greenbushes local and former Talison Lithium Trainee Matilda Gibbs has graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science (Nursing). In 2015, Matilda completed a 12-Month traineeship with Talison Lithium, gaining a Certificate III in Laboratory Skills. At the conclusion of the traineeship, Matilda made the move to Perth to commence her undergraduate studies. ... Matilda felt well prepared for the transition into full-time study and found the time management, communication, and teamwork skills she developed during her traineeship to be beneficial. Matilda has maintained a casual role in the Talison Laboratory throughout her studies which enabled her to continue working and building her skill set while studying. As much as we are appreciating having Matilda in the laboratory, we wish her the best for her career in nursing!

04.01.2022 Talison Lithium is among a large group of mining companies collectively supporting the West Australian community to meet the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Close to $7m has been contributed by the WA Resources sector through a Chamber of Minerals and Energy WA COVID-19 Community Support Initiative Fund to benefit local communities throughout the State. The three key WA organisations to benefit from the mining industry's COVID-19 Community Support Initiative are the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Foodbank WA and LifelineWA. Chamber of Minerals and Energy WA (CME) Chief Executive Paul Everingham said the funding would assist COVD-19 patients in regional WA as well as support mental health and provide essential supplies to vulnerable community members. #cmewa
