12.01.2022 This article is a reminder we need to develop a childs oral language through play. A good oral language foundation is what they need to comprehend what they read and what is read to them. Early literacy should be a joyful journey of shared imagination and not a chore.

10.01.2022 Fountas and Pinnell reps originally said they didn't want to put their programming online because it would affect their copywrite policies when the pandemic is... over. HM and Pearson's stocks were plummeting before this, looks like they had no choice. If you have a struggling reader DO NOT rely on F&P, Reading Recovery, Reading A-Z (RAZ kids), or any other leveled literacy nonsense. These "LEVELS" are made up by the publishers and there is no difference between a G or a K level book. They created this system to give parents and teachers a false sense of security in whole language while they push your kids through school with no literacy skills. Programs based on Leveled books are about money, not about literacy. - Ellen MacPherson See more

03.01.2022 We as parents and grandparents are the ones who will teach our children to talk in their early years. The more we talk to our children, the better their chances of developing speech and language skills will be. Some children need to hear a word 37 times before they are able to use it in their repertoire. Talking to your child about the same things you do everyday is not boring. It provides the fascinating discovery of word meaning for your child.

03.01.2022 Thanks so much Jason for sharing. This is a very special video. Every best wish for you and your family.
