24.01.2022 Bear What a difference a Pinch Collar can make in the conversation between a dog & his owner. Using a flat collar & having to yank & pull on your dogs throat & not get results is not just frustrating for the owner buts its actually causing damage to your dogs throat. So very important to keep the lead loose, pressure on gives information to the dog & pressure off immediately when the dog responds. Steve was so happy to finally have his dog walking calmly beside him & to listen to & respond to a few very subtle corrections when needed. Nice job Steve & Bear

24.01.2022 Bear 5mths old & just so divine. Covered some fundamental puppy basics with owners Melody & Steve. I believe you can teach an old dog new tricks but starting some basic training as a pup is hugely beneficial. Recently I have been so lucky & worked with lots of puppies. I have invested in a good pair of gloves...essential work wear for me now with puppies.... those teeth!!!

24.01.2022 Flex is such a versatile dog. She’s a bundle of energy but she engages with her human & follows direction so well. She could be an awesome agility dog. Using the environment today to keep her focussed on me. She loved it... & so did I

23.01.2022 My crew having some fun in the dam

22.01.2022 Some fun enrichment for my pooches today. Nothing gets motivation & focus from them more than our dam & a ball Even Shadow our pony wanted in on the action

21.01.2022 This stunner Lola needs help finding a new home. I have been told she has a beautiful nature.

21.01.2022 Shared from a friends page Commitment to Canines. Thanks Lucy, well written So I don't obviously condone anyone doing this, it's obviously quite dangerous, however, what it demonstrates beautifully is a confusing phenomenon for many owners and what we call barrier frustration. The dogs, feeling safer and yet more frustrated by the barrier, are more overtly aggressive. When the barrier is removed, the dogs display appeasement gestures like licking their lips and avoiding ey...e contact. This can explain why many people with dogs who are fine or able to cope off-leash, start being difficult on leash or on the other side of a fence. This does not mean however, that just letting dogs off leash together is a good idea. If pushed, a situation like this could definitely result in a fight and they are very lucky it did not. It's also a sign that your dog is over threshold and too aroused to make good decisions. If the dog cannot be called away from the fence or demonstrate alternate behaviours, they are not in the right place to socialise, even if not showing the same level of aggression. It's one of the reasons it can be important to work outside of dog parks on calm, responsive behaviour before or without ever going inside. Creating a more neutral reaction to the environment is always the bigger goal.

21.01.2022 **I AM ADOPTED** Polly has been adopted!

20.01.2022 Another puppy session with Miss Franki this morning. Practised place training, general obedience & following direction around & onto obstacles. Only 12wks old, perfect age for shaping behaviours that you want more of. She had some fun hunting treasures in a ball pit. Shannon & Kodie practised some fantastic recalls with distractions, the long line attached as backup if needed.... Franki was a super star

20.01.2022 Had the pleasure of meeting Hank this gentle giant & his owners today Hank is 2yrs old & even though he’s a nice placid dog around the house, when something in the environment triggers him, he’s worked out he has the size & strength to do what he wants. Great first session today just changing him from a harness to an appropriate collar & being clear with communication.... verbal & lead pressures.

19.01.2022 Peppa First session with owner Nadine & this stunning 5mth old Cane Corso girl today. Gets a wee bit excited greeting people & other dogs & needs some help learning how to walk loosely & politely on lead. We worked on some basics & she did a great job engaging. The tug toy certainly got her motivated & switched on

19.01.2022 Dogs & kids all enjoying this beautiful beach weather.... we are so lucky living here on the south coast

18.01.2022 I have been so lucky over the last few days to be involved in early training with 2 great pups & their amazing families. Yindi is around 18wks old Lab X Amstaff & Frankie is a 10wk old English Staffy. Lots of games & enrichment making learning fun for their owner & pup at all times. Thanks Pat, Eliza & Shannon for inviting me into your home & trusting me with your pup

18.01.2022 Seems like common sense but sadly its not It reminds me of when I was pregnant & the odd stranger would come up & touch my belly without asking.... who does that!!

18.01.2022 I think you need a bigger car Jill Love training with these two. Koa is one of the sweetest dogs but being so big we need to really work on his impulse control & general manners when greeting people & other dogs. He did a great job in his first lesson of Place Training. Creating that boundary & giving him something to do will make things so much clearer for him.

17.01.2022 Hello Shonky This boy is really very gentle but his anxiety & insecurities cause him to behave in ways that are undesirable at times for owner Tom, particularly out walking. Loose lead walking never happened & Shonky was distracted & reactive to lots of things in his environment. First time today Tom saw his dog pay attention & be calm. He is young, big & very strong. Lots of calm leadership & boundaries needed. Great work Tom

17.01.2022 Think about exercising your dogs brain to wear them out to create a happy content dog

16.01.2022 Had the pleasure of training with these cuties this morning Paw Paw is a Maltese X about 5mths old. Covered some basic puppy skills. Paw Paw wasnt keen on having a flat collar applied so we took it easy & made it a positive experience. As a pup its a great time to expose them & normalise having a collar put on, having their feet, head, neck touched. Check teeth. Make it an enjoyable normal experience before it needs to be done for real by a vet. Use this time to also check for ticks & abnormal lumps & bumps. Love my job

16.01.2022 Welcome Ghost A handsome young Swiss Shepherd. Loose lead walking is the owners main goal...looking pretty good by the end of our first session Nice work guys

15.01.2022 Bella & Harley What a pair of characters. Loved spending time with these sisters this morning.... still not entirely sure whos who Aaron their owner works 6 days, lives & works on site & has asked for some help keeping these two enriched, exercised & sharpening up their general obedience. One of his goals is to have both dogs as the park mascots... hanging out on the back of his golf buggy behaving & greeting guests politely. Challenge accepted Aaron

15.01.2022 Gidget This girl is 6yrs old & has spent her life with a breeder. She is an Italian Water Dog... sadly the previous owner clipped off all her lovely curles She is now in a loving new home near the beach with Barbara. First session today & Barbara really wanted information on the appropriate collar to use & to work on loose lead walking. Gidget youre a superstar!

15.01.2022 Hunter The most chilled out 10 wk old puppy I have ever met. He is just divine & so much fun to work with. Kerrie & Craig, his owners have a very busy lifestyle but are investing time & effort in teaching Hunter how to be the best he can be. A very bright future ahead for you little man

15.01.2022 Welcome Rad First session with this timid boy this morning. Approx 7mths old, adopted from the pound recently by lovely owners Carol & Gary. This little guy needs work building confidence. Lots of simple tasks, clear communication & positive reinforcements made him feel like a winner this morning. The use of the long line gave him some distance from me in the beginning so he didnt feel jammed up or that I was putting too much pressure on him. By the end of our session, his body language had changed, he was happy to walk beside me & he was confident in his choices.

13.01.2022 Ginger I feel so privileged to be part of a dogs training journey from the beginning. I met Ginger when she was a tiny wee girl & have been asked to continue training with her. She needs some work to help her regulate her impulses, general leash manners & recalls. She’s sensitive & very intelligent. Had fun out training today & being caught in a massive downpour. Thanks Sophie & Aaron for trusting me with your girl

11.01.2022 Want to join me in supporting a good cause? Im raising money for Rescue Hub Inc and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate a little or a lot. Anything helps. Thank you for your support. Ive included information about Rescue Hub Inc below. Rescue Hub is a volunteer group that re-homes and rescues dogs on death row at animal shelters. The shelter environment can be a stressful place for a dog, with some dogs simply not coping. That is where we step in, providing the dogs with training and vet work whilst helping them to find a loving forever home. We also take the more urgent dogs into care and provide them with specialist training and support whilst they wait for a home. 100% of all funds raised go to support the dogs we save.

11.01.2022 Meet the gorgeous Mungo 1yr old & so chilled out with life. Owner Prue just struggling a bit with recalls in areas of distractions like the beach. Worked through some focus & impulse control exercises & implementing the reward marker. Recalls need to be practised over & over in all sorts of environments & the use of a long line makes them successful..every time!

08.01.2022 Cooper Goes 1000 miles an hour with everything he does which includes pulling owner Tash around on walks. Worked on some loose lead walking & impulse control exercises. Good work Tash

07.01.2022 Got my kelpie fix today Enthusiastic & motivated...always a fun & energetic training session with this breed

07.01.2022 Toby & Saxon I have been very spoilt this week to work with some gorgeous little dogs. These 2 are very nervous & anxious at times. A humans natural instinct is to want to give affection, food & attention when a dog is in this mindset but it only creates a cycle of anxious behaviours. The dog never learns how to cope with any pressures in life. A dog that is truly fearful due to fireworks or thunder needs reassurance & affection. General daily anxiety not so much. Being mindful of what behaviours we reward & reinforce in our dogs is so important in building our dogs confidence & ability to cope & lead a happy content life.

06.01.2022 Ive had clients that have never played tug with their dog because they believe it will make them aggressive. They have been missing out on an amazing opportunity with their dog. Couldnt be further from the truth

06.01.2022 Welcome Molli Working with owner Jules to get Molli a pass in the Public Access Test to then be eligible to register as an Emotional Support/Assistance Dog. Molli provides an enormous amount of emotional support for Jules & she wants to be able to take her everywhere with her.

06.01.2022 Millie the 1yr old Groodle Such a lovely girl but when she hears the words Millie..come whilst at the beach or park & other people/dogs are around, she generally runs in the opposite direction to owner Roz. Practised lots of recalls today in the park on the long line & used a reward marker to make sure communication was clear & outcomes of good choices were predictable.

06.01.2022 Area rendered safe... threat has been immobilised

05.01.2022 Who ever said you cant teach 2 old dogs new tricks.... well theyve never met John & Buffy Buffy is quite a little firecracker but today John enjoyed the calm, loose lead version she gave him.

05.01.2022 Welcome Buffy First session today with this beauty & her owner John. These two love to go out for walks together but Buffy thinks John is her resource to protect & guard. John is also wanting help to improve her recalls & some techniques to help reduce anxiety when he leaves her alone in the house. John has some work to do to make these changes but hes committed & I have no doubt he will do whatever it takes.

05.01.2022 One of my beautiful clients sent this to me.... thanks Chelsea

05.01.2022 Please take a minute to cast a vote for this amazing group.

04.01.2022 Having to say a final goodbye to your dog is one of the hardest farewells ever. 2 friends have lost their dogs in the last few weeks & I feel their hurt. Its been 2 years since I lost my Tai....I still cry & miss him Fly high Zulu & Bloss

04.01.2022 Its the kelpies birthday... Show me yours! On this day 140 years ago, Kings Kelpie tied with Gibsons Tweed to win the sheepdog trial at Forbes in NSW and the breed was officially born.... Kelpies have been popular ever since, both as hard workers and lovable pets.

03.01.2022 I might never get on a skateboard again but Sky seemed to really enjoy it... go skater girl Worked on building Skys confidence & luring today. Thanks for a great morning Jo

03.01.2022 Rad This little guy is so much more confident. Carol is doing a great job in being consistent with training & setting Rad up to be successful. Met up at the beach today & practised recalls with some distractions around. Rad loves the ball, it motivates him, so thats what he was rewarded with for making good choices. What a little champ.

02.01.2022 Shonky & Tom doing really well in their second training session today Tom much more confident in his leadership & Shonky so much more relaxed. Quite a few distractions in this video that you cant see, people & other dogs. Tom handled it well. Mixed things up with some close walking, end of long line sniffing around & practised distracted recalls.

01.01.2022 My staffy Millie is such a well balanced, confident, all round awesome doggo. She’s been on a few jobs with me recently, helping out other dogs. So grateful & proud of her
