22.01.2022 Do you know what the red box on the front of each cage is for? This red box can be filled with enough food/water to last 7 days. That means the puppy mill own...er can stock those red boxes, walk away, and won't have to return for 7 days. Many owners even turn the lights off in those stinky barns so they can save on electricity. That's not much of a life, is it? Don't buy puppies online and don't buy from a pet store, because you are supporting puppy mills. Please share. Please tell at least one person per day about puppy mills and that adoption from a shelter or rescue group is the best option. Be The Voice! Speak Up. See more

09.01.2022 Horrid - luxury brand Hermès is looking to build one of Australia’s largest crocodile farms in the Northern Territory. The French brand aims for the exploitative farm to hold 50,000 crocodiles to be used for bags and shoes.

05.01.2022 A playschool for orphaned elephants Our Nairobi Nursery is just that, a pre-school for orphaned elephants, providing care and socialisation so that they can one... day return back to their rightful place in the protected wild. Here, calves recover from the trauma of being orphaned, which can be both physical and psychological - indeed, over the years, we have witnessed grieving orphans exhibiting behaviour which often mirrors post-traumatic stress syndrome. Recovery can vary according to each individual and key to its success is the presence of the herd and our Keepers, who offer maternal care and milk feeds, just as their lost mothers have done. Play is also vital; it can be a sign of healing and is one of the main ways the orphans in our care learn from one another and pick up important life skills. You can find out why elephants become orphaned, how we raise orphaned animals and our success to date at: https://sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/projects/orphans
