11.01.2022 Apple, on Monday, released its anticipated macOS Catalina software update, you might want to hold off before downloading Catalina. Catalina is more than your average software update it fundamentally changes what apps you can (or, more accurately, cant) use on your Mac. If youre running macOS Mojave or High Sierra, you may have seen a pop-up box appear. But after upgrading to Catalina, apps that prompt this error will not run at all. The issue has to do with Apples transi...tion from 32-bit to 64-bit apps. What does this mean for you? For one, if youre dependent on a particular 32-bit app, it wont work in macOS Catalina. For instance, if you are running Microsoft Office that is not the 2019 version, youll need to purchase the newer version. Like to see which of your apps are still 32-bit? Click on the Apple menu on your Mac, select About This Mac, and click System Report. In System Report, scroll down to Legacy Software, and take a look at all your 32-bit apps.

01.01.2022 Apple has determined that a limited number of 128GB and 256GB solid-state drives (SSD) used in 13-inch MacBook Pro (non Touch Bar) units have an issue that may result in data loss and failure of the drive. 13-inch MacBook Pro units with affected drives were sold between June 2017 and June 2018.
