17.01.2022 A very big congratulations to our 5 swimmers who swam today: Renee, Lucy, Abbey, Ellie & Maeve!! You all swam fantastically and I think you might have even shocked yourselves with how wonderful you are. I definitely missed having Jodie at the pool today, and fired myself as club photographer. As I didn’t even get the club group photo or individual shots, huge apologies. Here are a few snaps I did get though. Next pennant is in 2 weeks - Sunday 6th December, location to be advised. It would be wonderful to see all competitive swimmers attend.

07.01.2022 # EXCITING NEWS # UPCOMING SWIMMING SEASON Although Covid has made this yr so far a very very challenging one for us all, we look forward with anticipation to the coming swimming season, however that may now look. Tallangatta Swimming Club has been working quietly through this Covid period to see how we can improve our club and the whole Swim Club experience for the wider community and our swimmers.... We have been successful in applying for a community grant which will allow for some new equipment, life guard training for some of our coaches, and the return of the O'Connell cup. This could mean morning pool access may be possible again to other groups or the public, with qualified life guards available some mornings while there training club swimmers. This year as a committee we are changing our vision and direction, as some of the other Southern Division clubs have very successfully done. We will become a Competitive only club. What this means is we would love you ( parents/gaurdians) to join us in the pool, and swim 2 meets with your kids! out of the full calender of only 6 for the entire season. If the kids are going to join and you're coming along why not join in as well. Show the kids you still have it in the pool. Great exercise and even greater family fun. We are also hoping to reinstate the free Community Movie Night, BBQ and O'Connell Cup (swim carnival) open to any relay teams from anywhere. It has been a long standing fun event with pool fun followed by a family friendly outdoor Movie. We also have a new Logo with new uniforms to follow. Some of our returning swimmers enjoyed several of the larger O and M meets in town at the 50 metre pools with some great times in the pool. Even heading off to compete in Melbourne at MSAC. What an experience that is for young country swimming hopefuls. We would love to see a few more folks around town come and show what swim talent Tallangatta has got out here. Please follow Tallangatta Swimming Club Facebook page for updates as the Swimming season approaches & registration night is advised. Thank you, Jodie Cawood President Tallangatta Swimming Club See more

06.01.2022 Second morning session at the pool and another good turn out!! Our morning swimmers have been called: Tallangatta Sunrises. Next session: Wednesday 2nd December - Egg & bacon roll and juice or a bottle of water will be available. Cost: $5 per swimmer. All swimmers are welcome to attend.

06.01.2022 NEW COMMITTEE FROM AGM A small group of members put their ZOOM skills to the test on Sunday afternoon for our 2020 AGM. All positions were declared open for reelection. Kaylene made the decision not to take on the Presidency again, and we thank her for her tireless work over the years. Sandra also requested that she not have the position of Admin Officer and Secretary again after many years of trying to combine this with Registrar and coaching. We still have space for a s...ecretary to come on board, so please talk to Sandra to see what this entails. New Committee is as follows. President: Jodie Cawood Vice President: Emma Moyle Secretary: TBC Treasurer: Justin Cawood Admin Officer: Olivia Hodgkin Grievance/Child Safety Officer: Kathleen Moran Social Events Officer: Jodie Cawood Sponsorship/Fundraising Officer: Sandra Klippel Uniform Officer: Kaylene Schwarz Ovens & Murray Rep: Kaylene Schwarz Always remember if you can't take on a position there are plenty of chances to pitch in throughout the season. We would also like to appoint 4 general committee members to assist with decision making and ideas. If this is you, please let us know.

02.01.2022 Appreciation post: The HUGEST thank you to Stephanie from Little Wren Graphic Design for working with Tallangatta Swimming Club and designing our new logo. This process has been outstanding and the communication has been fabulous. It’s not always easy working with a group of individuals who all have different likes, dislikes and plus my OCD. Lol!! But together we all have achieved something that we are so proud off. Thank you Stephanie for seeing our vision, our love of th...is sport and literally thinking with a swimming cap on. Thank you again. Regards, Tallangatta Swimming Club Coaches & committee. See more
