24.01.2022 Can I wear black? Knowing your best colours does not mean being wedded to a particular set of hues. In fact, discovering your best colours should be both enlightening and liberating because like style, once you know the rules you can work out how to bend them to your advantage. Just because black may not one of your best colours or if it's in your colour swatch and you are now over 50 this does not mean you can't wear it. ... You can make black work for you by: Wearing it away from your face i.e. scoop neckline, pants or skirt. Add a buffer zone neckline accessory in one of your flattering colours i.e. a scarf or a shirt under a pinafore dress. Ensure the contrast is correct for your personal colouring between your skin and/or the colours in a print. Select a black item that has a surface and texture that works for your colouring.
