25.01.2022 In 2017, the Tamar Valley AONB team secured funds from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to record and raise awareness of the special historic daffodil varieties growing in the Tamar Valley landscape, a legacy of a vibrant market gardening industry of the early 1900s. This years Heralds of Spring week is rapidly approaching!!
23.01.2022 March is (finally!) upon us and the Heralds of Spring event is only just around the corner. There are plenty of exciting activities happening during the week. Perfect for the whole family! Fingers crossed the sun will be shining for us then too!

21.01.2022 Saturday saw the Tamar Valley Centre host the first ever Repair Cafe - Tamar Valley and wow, what a morning we had. We had some wonderful support from Saltash Wesley Repair Cafe and Les was interviewed by BBC Radio Cornwall early morning show. To top it all off the team were able to help mend several items. These included:... Clothing, A barometer, A printer, CD player A Unicycle and more... The next Repair Cafe - Tamar Valley will be held on Thursday 12th March 10am-1pm.
21.01.2022 Repair cafe day is here!! This is our first Repair Cafe and a joint record breaking effort across the nation, as we attempt to fix the largest amount of items in one day! If you have any broken items laying around, hidden away in a cupboard or forgotten about in the shed, bring them along! One of our volunteers may just have the skills needed to give it a new lease of life!

07.01.2022 NEW FOR 2020! We have joined Cornwall Repair Cafe Network and will be holding monthly repair cafes. This great initiative will provide members of our community the opportunity to get together and help one another fix and repair broken and damaged items from home. ... Our first cafe is VERY exciting - we will be 1 in over 75 repair cafes being held at the same time, across the nation in an attempt to break a record for the largest amount of items fixed! We are also looking for volunteers to help on the day. We are keen to widen the area of the project on both sides of the Tamar, expand the school engagement offer and develop an events programme to celebrate the unique legacy of the daffodil trade in the Tamar Valley, perhaps we may even discover new varieties of daffodil!
