25.01.2022 Three of the does. The red doe is TAM5033. the doe in the middle photo is TAM7122 and the yellow tag doe looking at the camera in the third photo is TAM3036. Very hard to get good shots in the paddock.... so much easier in a yard on their own! The short videos of each animal on the A+ site give a much better picture of what they are really like than the stills do!

24.01.2022 Kidplan is still offering free membership and data returns, see below Free membership and data subscription extended until 25th November 2021 Our accelerated adoption initiative aims to get more Australian producers benefiting from our services. Sheep Genetics provides a unique service with seasonal cycles of data submission which does not necessarily fit with the timeline for the adoption initiative. Therefore, we extended the adoption initiative for Sheep Genetics clien...ts so you can submit two year drops/cohorts for free. (For those people already subscribing) While there is no cost at the moment, we still need to hear from you. Please sign and return your invitations to renew subscription. You will receive an invoice for $0 that needs to be raised for our records. http://www.sheepgenetics.org.au/Breeding-servi/KIDPLAN-Home See more

18.01.2022 AuctionsPlus put out these 2 YouTube clips. They are not about choosing Bucks but about choosing Bulls and Rams. However the elementary principles are worth considering when you make your buck selections. Bear in mind that sheep and cattle have been selectively bred for ideal traits for domestication for much, much longer than goats have and so there is a big jump between what you can expect from rams or bulls and what you can expect from a buck. TAMBOOKIE bucks all have Kidplan EBVs for GROWTH and MUSCLING. TAMBOOKIE goats lead Australia in EBVs for GROWTH and MUSCLING. IF GROWTH and MUSCLING is your primary breeding objective, TAMBOOKIE bucks are a good bet for you. 02.01.2022 We run all the does together. After weaning, when the does have lost their milk, we return all the female weanlings to the doe flock. We find that they benefit from being with friends and family. At kidding time the young does learn from watching their mothers give birth and raising kids. When it's their first time to kid, they have already had some experience and it's not unusual to see older does giving support to younger does.
