19.01.2022 Tamborine Mountain Little Theatre is a proud member of the Gold Coast Theatre Alliance. The Alliance brings many Gold Coast and surrounding areas, community theatres together to support and assist the performing arts. On Sunday 19th January 2020 members from TMLT attended the Theatre Alliance Annual Hero Awards breakfast. These awards are presented by the GOLD COAST THEATRE ALLIANCE INC to those who have given exceptional service, usually for many years, to Community Theatre... and Performance. These awardees are volunteers who have worked unceasingly for their companies and in the Community Arts and have shown extraordinary commitment over a period of time. These DSA's are nominated by their peers - by the companies they call home and by the Gold Coast Theatre Alliance Inc. The GCTAI Executive ratifies and acknowledges nominations and carefully assesses the citations accompanying the nominations. After careful consideration, the DSA's are awarded. TMLT's very own Kate Tardy was a recipient this year. Nominated by Spotlight Theatre for her continuous and wonderful work over many years to the theatre. An artist who has created many fabulous sets, costumes as well as writing and directing plays and pantomimes. Kate directed Calendar Girls at the Zamia theatre in 2018 with 8 sell-out shows. We are thrilled that Kate is writing and directing another play to be performed this year at the Zamia.
