Some doctors at our practice as you now know are Trialing BetterConsult, a pre-consultation questionnaire completed by patients that gives your doctor an understanding of the reason for your visit.... How does BetterConsult benefit you? Spend more time talking about treatment - Focus on discussing treatment options instead of going over symptoms. Never forget what you want to cover with your GP - Take your time documenting each health concern before your appointment. Answer questions about your health, in private - Consider your symptoms and medications, in privacy. Rely on security of your medical data - Document your information securely so that it is only seen by your Doctor.

21.01.2022 WHAT IS PDT, AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR? Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a non-surgical treatment for superficial types of skin cancer. PDT is effective in treating actinic keratoses (precancerous sun spots) intraepithelial carcinomas (IECs/Bowen’s disease), and superficial basal cell carcinomas (early superficial skin cancers).... First the GP or dermatologist gently scrapes the area with a curette to remove any dry skin or crusting. Then the light-sensitive cream is applied, and after three hours a special light is shined onto the area for about eight minutes. The area is covered with a bandage. For skin cancers, PDT is usually repeated after a week. What to expect after: Side effects can include redness and swelling, which usually ease after a few days. PDT commonly causes a burning, stinging or tender feeling in the treatment area, particularly to the face. Your doctor may treat you with a cold water spray or pack, or give you a local anaesthetic to help ease any discomfort. Contact us to find out more...

A bone density test is the only test that can diagnose osteoporosis before a broken bone occurs. This test helps to estimate the density of your bones and your chance of breaking a bone. NOF recommends a bone density test of the hip and spine by a central DXA machine to diagnose osteoporosis. DXA stands for dual energy x-ray absorptiometry.

07.01.2022 Bone Bus 18TH-20TH November. MeasureUp is a mobile bone densitometry service. They provide an accurate, reliable and precise bone mineral density measurement service. Patients do not need to travel to a major hospital or radiology lab to have their bone density measured. Bone bus can complete the assessment and return the report promptly (via Healthlink) all from our comfortable, mobile lab equipped with a State-of-the-art bone densitometer (DEXA) that is operated by specia...lly trained and certified MeasureUp staff. This is completed whilst being parked right in front of our practice. For patients under 70 the cost will be $90. For bookings please contact 1800 10 11 63. Our office will then call to confirm patients who have booked and fill out the referral form for you to take to the bone bus appointment

07.01.2022 Meet Our owner and director Dr Julian Fox My years in General Practice in the UK saw many changes and developed 3 linked surgeries in North East England. Our 11 years in Au has now taken me into surgical work, for skin cancer and vasectomy. And in the last 2 years back into starting and running new surgeries. Dr Julian Fox is an experienced GP with an interest in Dermatology He consults at Tamborine and Yarrabilba for dermatology problems with telehealth support from Dr Ben Carew, Dermatologist General Practice, Dermatology, Skin Cancer & Vasectomy Surgeon.
