16.01.2022 A visitor stopped by last night! Silly possum, didn't anyone tell you our glow worms are only visible during the daytime? This cutie is a Short-Eared Possum, also known as a Bobuck. They are a high altitude species so they love Tamborine Mountain. This little guy hangs around our site because our reforested habitat provides lots of yummy snacks, one of their favourite foods is mushrooms! #reforestedhabitat #tamborine #reforestation #visitqld #visittamborine #queensland #queenslandwildlife #wildlifecorridor #qld

10.01.2022 The Great Aussie Backyard Bird Count is this weekend! Take part in citizen science and help scientists track bird species. Tamborine Mountain is a fantastic site for birdwatching, why not come up this weekend to count some birds? We'll be counting at the Glow Worm Caves, so download the app and join in the count! The app is a great resource with a 'near me' function which identifies birds in your local area and can help you finally put a name to the bird calls you hear ...every day. The count helps researchers collect important data bird populations and dispersal which is more important than ever after the devastating bushfires and drought that we are all still recovering from. https://aussiebirdcount.org.au/ #aussiebirdcount #birdlifeaustralia #citizenscienceaustralia #citizenscience #tamborineglowwormcaves #tamborine
