24.01.2022 Congratulations to Yarrabilba parkrun for their Bushfire Appeal fundraiser cupcake sale this morning. Linda Deseck went down there with some donation money from Tamborine Mountain parkrun and grabbed a selection of cupcakes to drive back up in time for the parkrun breakfast. They were delicious! There is some serious baking talent in Yarrabilba!

21.01.2022 A big Thank You and Congratulations for all the hard work done at Tamborine Mountain Sports Ground this morning for the Working Bee the Sports Association organised. A shout out to the parkrunners who answered the call and volunteered their morning for gardening, cleaning and maintenance work. Mal and Kristy Spindler , Bruce Hargreaves, Linda May Galbraith, Will and Arran Hassell, Linda Deseck, Melanie Lightbody, Sarah Woodward, Sue Holmes, and Heather Shearer. You did us proud!

19.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone! Our extra parkrun on Friday 1st January to start off 2021 had a great turn out with over 50 parkrunners! Most were visitors and a lot of the locals volunteered. It was raining until the run started and then cleared up a little with even a few patches of blue sky showing through by the end of it. Here are the photos Debra Woodfine took, and later I’ll add a few that I took. Hope some of you will be back for the normal Saturday parkrun tomorrow.

17.01.2022 The female course record was broken this morning as Tess Hannigan took 4 seconds off her previous PB from 07/12/19 and set a new record of 20:27! Congratulations Tess!

16.01.2022 Saturdays Birthday parkrun is going to be a wet one but we will still have a big one even in the pouring rain, especially if other parkruns have to cancel theirs. We dont cancel for rain because ours is a trail run and the more challenges the more fun! We only cancel for lightening or strong winds that might cause branches to fall. Wear your bright, crazy party outfit and your biggest smile for our FUN FLURO FIVE theme. See you Saturday!

13.01.2022 29/02/2020 event#261 Leap Year Day parkrun (part 2) It was great to have a lot of ADF visitors from Kokoda Barracks join us this morning and we hope they will keep coming over the next month while they are based in Canungra. We had 3 PB times beaten this morning. Congratulations to Jonathan Smith, Anthony Ingold, and Jo-Ann Thompson.... Next parkrun is International Womens Day so the theme will be EVERYONE dressed in their best girlie outfits! Yes thats guys and girls dressing up! Im hoping to see dresses, big earrings, bras over the top of running shirts, tutus, stockings... you decide. See more

12.01.2022 The social aspect of parkrun is definitely proving to be as successful as the physical. Mental health is just as important as fitness but a lot harder to improve. Parkrun is such a lovely community group to join, to get up, get out, and get healthier. And its free! But be careful, its a bit addictive... Come and say hi... come and run, jog, walk or volunteer to help.... come and have coffee and a chat after... just make sure you come!

09.01.2022 Event #261 29/02/2020 Leap Year Day parkrun! It was so much fun photographing everyone leaping around this morning Well done for all the extra effort it took to add jumps into your morning run! We had 51 finishers of which 21 were trying our trail parkrun course for the first time. Quite a few hadnt registered for barcodes so their times couldnt be processed, and 2 runners didnt hand in their finishing tokens !!! We need those every week so if you still have a token please contact us. Heres half my photos... another batch to come.

09.01.2022 I read this as meaning: -Even though Tamborine Mountain is outside the Greater Brisbane area, those of who have been with in the Greater Brisbane Area must carry a mask where ever we go, and wear it when within 1.5 metres of others in public spaces etc -parkrun falls into the outdoor gatherings with less than 1000 people, with a COVID-19 plan, so we can run.... No masks while running, but masks before and after, including coffee if you have been in the Greater Brisbane zone since 2nd January 2021. 06.01.2022 Tamborine Mountain parkrun 9th January 2021 now cancelled. Although we are not in Greater Brisbane or the lockdown area, this rule stops most of us going to parkrun tomorrow: "We're also asking anyone who was in Greater Brisbane on or since 2 January, to follow the same lockdown rules where they are now. Only leave your home for the essential reasons and wear a mask.... And this applies to a lot of our volunteers and runners. Sorry folks, we will keep you updated for Saturday 16th January 2021

05.01.2022 14th March 2020 Great weather for parkrun this morning. We had 44 finishers, 11 of whom were newcomers to our course. 6 new PB times were run. One of those was by young Tess Hannigan, setting a new female course record of 20:27.

05.01.2022 Event #260 22 Feb 2020 parkrun had 68 finishers, of which 34 were running our course for the very first time! Its nice to see youth groups showing up lately and all the kids having fun outdoors. Heres some of the photos, with more to follow.

05.01.2022 1st February 2020 event#257 A good turn out this morning with 55 finishers, on the first day of our slightly changed course. We had 7 parkrunners beating their PB times today, although everyone probably should have, because the hill at the beginning and end of our course has now been taken out and a flat distance added in the middle! 10 visitors were running our parkrun trail for the first time, and a few of them mentioned that it is tough... well, not as tough as before!!!... 04.01.2022 Tomorrow is the first time parkrun will be on the Leap Year extra day! The 29th Feb wont be on a Saturday again until 2048 so dont miss the first ever Leap Year Day parkrun! We are having a Leapfrog Challenge before the run starts to see who can leapfrog over the most number of people, then a Leap Photo Challenge during the run to see if you can jump higher than our champion photobomber Kristy and finally do your own crazy leap through the finish line for our finishing photos.

03.01.2022 Just a reminder to those coming to the Tamborine Mountain parkrun as a runner, walker, volunteer or spectator, that you need register weekly either at the venue of prior to arriving, preferably by the attached QR-Code.

02.01.2022 It seems so weird not having our Saturday parkruns anymore... how do we know the weekend has started?!! I thought Id put up a few photos of last years Easter parkrun to wish you all a Happy Easter , and if anyone does a parkrun Freedom Run over the Easter holiday then post your time or a selfie in the comments below Enjoy all you chocolate eggs and hot cross buns and see you around the mountain sometime jogging them off. Lol.

02.01.2022 TM parkruns 5th Birthday! 8th Feb 2020 event#258 Even in this weather we had a good turnout! 62 finishers, some half parkrun runners, lots of limbo attempts at half way flag, and we even had 4 PB times ran!!!! 26 runners did our course for the first time, we had a great fluro dress code success, and lots of fresh fruit and cakes to celebrate after.

02.01.2022 7th March 2020 Event #262 This weekend our parkrun dress-up theme was International Womens Day. Thanks to those of you who were great sports and put on a bit of female clothing to show support of womens issues. You all looked fabulous, with special mention to Nigel and Jim. You two were awesome!! We had 38 finishers, 14 running our course for the first time, and 3 PB times beaten. And in a special achievement.... Arran Hassell took the title for most number of 1st position finishes on our course! Congratulations !
