24.01.2022 Our path to reopening Exciting news from the Australian Government yesterday that we’re on track to getting our country back up and running! Albeit sadly, under the current restrictions and the pending ‘step 1’ constraints to be introduced next week, we will not be reopening at this time. We are using this time to make sure that when we do reopen, we’ll be starting a new chapter and providing an exceptional experience. Our café is currently undergoing some cosmetic changes in...cluding some new seating areas and equipment upgrades. We’re also working hard on revamping our food and drinks menus. In addition, we’re ensuring that our premises is as ‘covid-safe’ as possible for when we do reopen. We wish we were writing today with a set date for our reopening and a message of when we’ll be able to serve you all again; hopefully that announcement comes in the very near future! But for now, we’re working hard so when we do reopen, TMCP is the best and safest place to come and grab some amazing coffee, drinks and food! The TMCP Team

22.01.2022 As part of a week-long Decentralisation Study Tour Program that covers Brisbane, Scenic Rim and Canberra, Scenic Rim Regional Council was delighted to host key ...Papua New Guinea government officials and members from the Australian High Commission. The Study Tour Program is an Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, AusIndustry and Queensland Government sanctioned official visit under the Queensland Government's Memorandum of Understanding with Papua New Guinea, and provides participants with an opportunity to learn about various initiatives and programs under all three levels of governments within Australia. While in the Scenic Rim, our guests were able to learn more about our region's strong agricultural industries, and met with AJ Bush & Sons at the Bromelton State Development Area to better understand the precinct's opportunities for industrial development. Given Papua New Guinea's abundance of rainforests, we were able to showcase some of the region's tourism assets that could align to their experiences with visits to Thunderbird Park, Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk and Tamborine Mountain Coffee Plantation. They were also very interested to see the strong presence of Papua New Guinean artwork in Capanart Gallery, who had 'adopted' Papua New Guinea to support during the Commonwealth Games. A visit to Summer Land Camels highlighted the diversity of our tourism sector and also the success of local businesses in the region who now have strong export markets. During their visit with Council officers, they learned about Council's Refresh and Refocus agenda, and discussed Council's role in local service delivery including infrastructure services, human resource management and the Customer Centricity project. Hosted overnight at Cedar Creek Lodges, the last stop in the Scenic Rim was lunch at Mason Wines Tamborine Mountain before their departure for Canberra. The visit was fully funded by Government and provides a great opportunity to build Council's relationship with Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and AusIndustry and to explore any export opportunities there may be for our region.

10.01.2022 Mushrooms on a Monday Morning - - - Paired with a smoky babaganoush, our mushroom medley of field, Swiss brown, enoki and cup mushrooms are roasted in garlic and herbs and plated up on freshly toasted sourdough. Coated in shaved pecorino and truffle oil, they’re full of flavour with only a little bit of the guilt :)

09.01.2022 Such a beautiful time of year to be on the mountain; hot, but not too hot - kinda like how we serve our coffee.
