20.01.2022 Tamborine Mountain Garden Club's Springtime On The Mountain 2020 With five beautiful gardens to explore and with two perfect spring days to enjoy them, it was a wonderful time for our garden club members and their many guests to experience! Covid regulations made it a 'one of a kind', Springtime On The Mountain event, but we were glad it was able to be accomplished and that it was so successful. ... Thank you to our garden owners for much planning and hard work and to our volunteers who attended covid training sessions and sat at the gates over the two days. We hope that life will be back to normal in 2021 to ensure a back to normal 'Springtime On The Mountain' for everyone to enjoy! 18.01.2022 Join in the celebration of BADCAP’s First Anniversary at their Open House weekend in December. It’s a year since BADCAP (Beaudesert and District Community Arts Projects) became the new co-lessee of the Stationmaster House at 100 Brisbane Street, Beaudesert. Members would like to invite everyone to join them in celebrating the occasion on Saturday & Sunday, 5 & 6 December. Their Christmas Makers’ Market will also be launched where Christmas gifts galore will be available to bu...y. BADCAP, long-time organisers of Arts in the Olives festival and two major sculpture symposia, were more recently invited to manage the workshops and market stalls at Arts Ablaze at Kooralbyn. With their new home at 100 Brisbane Street, they were invisaging more workshops, art exhibitions, artists-in-residencies, arts demonstrations more often. Covid-19 halted many plans but now with restrictions easing, BADCAP would like to invite everyone to celebrate on the first weekend in December. Their members, who all have artistic passion are also pretty creative themselves, will have their individual skills on show. Along with a variety of activities for all ages on Saturday and Sunday (such as Raku firing, candle making, Softie Sew-In, making Christmas decorations) there are two major workshops Playing with Mono Prints with Sandra Pearce (Saturday 5th 9.30am-12.30pm $60) and Twined Basket with Therese Flynn-Clarke (Sunday 6th 9am-12pm $60). Both workshops require bookings. The Christmas Makers’ Market proved very successful last year so it’s back with items for sale in time for Christmas. There will be paintings, sculptures, prints, ceramics, jewellery, basketry, string bags, retro clothing, along with Christmas gift wrapping to beautify any unique gifts purchased. No-one will want to miss Alaine’s delicious Fruit Delights which will be available to purchase from midday on the Saturday nor the free drumming circle from 5.30pm to 7.00pm later in the day. Sunday sees Rotary serving up their delicious breakfasts with an essential coffee cart alongside. More details of all the events and workshop bookings can be obtained on the BADCAP website: badcap.org
