Please note that anyone who is returning from South Australia will be required to undertake mandatory quarantine. Individuals who arrive from South Australia on Monday 16 or Tuesday 17 November will not be required to pay the $2500 mandatory quarantine cost. 24.01.2022 Our office is open for back-to-school purchases, 8am-4pm. Get in early and beat the mad rush!

24.01.2022 Our Special Education Centre (SEC) had their Market Day this week, and it was a huge success. The Centre was open during recess and lunch for students, staff and parents of SEC students to purchase products. There were all sorts of goodies from dried fruit, fridge magnets, stress balls, candles, cards, door stops, heat bags to specially made Teacher Survival Kits! And they also put on a BBQ. The students handmade all the products, with some projects they had been working on gradually over the last two terms. The money raised is going towards their Sensory Garden, and so far the total for the day is an amazing $1120. What an achievement and great experience for the students.

23.01.2022 Today we farewelled our Year 12 Students in style with a private celebration breakfast, followed by a whole school assembly. At 7am this morning year 12 students entered the gym to find it transformed into 'Hogwarts Great Hall' and were greeted by Taminmin teachers disguised as characters from Harry Potter. SURPRISE!!!! Full of magical flavour, they feasted on an amazing spread catered for by our Hospitality students and served beverages by our Retail students. They were then... farewelled by the whole school at an assembly where the year 12's conducted a few games involving teachers and the captains handed over the reins/engraved wooden key announcing the successful School Captains for 2021. We are so impressed with conduct of the 2020 year 12 cohort, they have endured the tribulations of COVID-19 and made it through to the end. Although school is now over, exams start next week so they have a little bit of work left to do and we wish them good luck. CONGRATULATIONS Class of 2020. All the best on your future endeavours

23.01.2022 Hi families, if you are getting rid of any uniforms this year that either no longer fit your child or is no longer needed we are happy for them to be donated to the school. These will be dry cleaned and used as emergency uniforms for students in need.

22.01.2022 Our Student Leadership Team enjoyed a feast this morning at their weekly meeting! Everyone bought a plate to share as a nice farewell to the Year 12 Captains. This group have been fantastic representatives of their respective year level cohorts and school as a whole, especially working with the unprecedence that COVID-19 presented.

21.01.2022 Late last week we had the Students Association for Rural and Remote Health (StARRH) - National Rural Health Student Network visit interested senior students to discuss their experiences of study and career beginnings in the Medical, Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Public Health, Nursing and Occupational Therapy fields. The university students engaged and inspired Taminmin students with their hands on approach and their current accounts of university experiences and their individual pathways into their chosen study areas. This was a very popular event and we thank StARRH for volunteering their time to speak with our students.

18.01.2022 Yesterday some lucky students ventured in to partake in some salsa dancing lessons. Our Spanish Club, which is a variety of year 7-11 students, runs on Tuesdays at recess by Mr Brocklebank. For a bit of cultural experience he organised this wonderful trip in to Salsitas Dance Studio where they instructed by expert dancers, and everyone had so much fun! This worked up an apetite where they went to Mexican restaurant Hot Tamale and ordered their lunch in Spanish. What great practice!

18.01.2022 A message from the Captains: Captains Key (aka the key to the castle) ... This key represents the responsibility that the Taminmin school captains hold and the morals valued in them; leadership, collaboration, diversity, taminosity and displaying the REACH values. It is to be passed down each year through the cohorts as a gift from one cohort to the next. However the day this key is passed on to the new captains marks the official dismissal of the previous captains and the start of a new rein. As the new owners of this key the new captains are the caretakers of Taminmin for past and present students as well as their cohort.

10.01.2022 We had year 6 students participate in Orientation over two days this week. They had a full day program organised by Year 7 Coordinator Miss Lees, where they could experience a day in the life of a Taminmin student. Activities and classes included a school and farm tour, Drama, Cooking, PE, Kahoot quizzes in the library and Maths and History activities. As we have so many lovely year 6's attending they were split up into groups and escorted by a Taminmin student helper to each lesson.
