19.01.2022 Children are the ones who are very vital for deciding how the world is going to be after some years. So if one can do some good in the life of a child then there can be change, at least a slightest change, in the world to come. And if most of them think on same lines then we can hope of a better future ahead #Happy National Children’s Day

18.01.2022 MEDICAL EXEMPTIONS FOR NSW RESIDENTS NEEDING QUEENSLAND HEALTHCARE UNDER BORDER CHANGE Tweed MP Geoff Provest said medical exemptions have been made for the bor...der closure that will no longer require NSW patients and support people to quarantine for 14 days. There was growing anger on the north coast as patients living outside the so-called "border bubble" faced the choice of missing specialist medical appointments, or paying thousand of dollars to quarantine in Queensland for 14-days. Mr Provest says those granted a medical exemption to cross the border, will no longer be required to quarantine in Queensland, provided they travel directly to and from their appointments. "In a nutshell this is a big win for people requiring medical services in Queensland." Full details below regarding new quarantine measures and how to access Qld health services: To access specialist health services in Queensland, NSW residents should apply for a Queensland Border Declaration Pass (General) at https://www.qld.gov.au/border Eligible residents should select the option: ‘Entering Queensland to obtain specialist health care that cannot be obtained at your place of residence, or as a support person to a person obtaining such care and can provide evidence of the time and place of the specialist appointment. When crossing the border by road into Queensland, residents will need to present their border declaration, as well as documentation confirming their medical appointment or treatment.’ Specialist health care includes the following and outlines the documentation required: Queensland Children's Hospital appointment confirmed in writing by the hospital Specialist outpatient appointment at a Queensland Hospital and Health Service, confirmed in writing by the service Specialist appointment at a licensed Queensland private health facility, confirmed in writing by the service Specialist appointment, confirmed in writing by the service along with a written referral from a GP Other appointments at a Queensland Hospital and Health Service accompanied by a form signed by the Chief Executive that the patient requires specialist health care in Queensland. A Patient who does not meet these requirements will not be able to enter Queensland unless granted an individual exemption by the Chief Health Officer (CHO). Exceptional circumstances must exist. Exemption requests can be made here: https://healthserviceportal.health.qld.gov.au/hdsp Patients will have to quarantine as follows: For an outpatient: in government arranged accommodation if treatment is as an outpatient for more than one day. For a day treatment or appointment, the person must leave Queensland immediately following the treatment/appointment. For an inpatient: at the hospital if receiving treatment as an inpatient. A support person accompanying someone receiving essential medical care will need to stay in government arranged accommodation, at their own expense. Alternatively, they can drop the person at the medical facility and drive straight back without stopping in Queensland and then come back to pick them up. Children receiving treatment at the Children's Hospital, and their family, can quarantine with the child at the hospital. For more information about border declarations, please visit https://www.qld.gov.au/border-pass or contact 13 42 68. The above information has been provided by Page MP Kevin Hogan.

16.01.2022 Today marks Armistice Day, the day World War I ended, at the 11 hour of the 11 day of the 11 month, in 1918 -Lest We Forget. 1000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Soliders served during World War I. The outstanding combat bravery that Indigenous Members of the AIF brought to the battlefield has recently been recognised. Private Albert Knight was a farmhand from Brewarrina. He was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal for conspicuous gallantry in the attack on the vill...age of Bony in September 1918. Two of Knight’s brother also enlisted in the AIF. Private William Rawlings was a horse breaker from Framlingham in Victoria. He was awarded the Military Medal for leading a bayonet charge at Morlancourt in July 1918. He was killed in action on 9 August 1918 and buried at Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres. Private Harry Murray was a stock and station hand from Taroom in Queensland. He was assigned to the 11th Light Horse Regiment with many other Indigenous men. Murray served in the victorious Battle of Samakh and returned home a veteran in 1919. Private William Allan Irwin was a shearer from Burra Bee Dee Mission in New South Wales. He was with the 33rd Battalion and saw action across various battlefields on the Western front and was wounded a couple of times before returning to his battalion. William’s bravery during the battle of Mont St Quentin was officially recognised with the Distinguished Conduct Medal. William is buried in the Daours Communal Cemetery in France after being wounded in a battle on the 31st August 1918. Such bravery was judged on merit of these brave digger’s actions and not the colour of their skins. We will remember them - Lest We Forget
