24.01.2022 Handprints of all the children in care combined to make a ‘belonging Christmas tree’, would be a beautiful idea & a lovely way to decorate a daycare environment

21.01.2022 Book Week at Karen's house The younger children bought in their favourite story from home to share with their friends, with school aged children sharing their school readers. Lovely to hear about this sharing and support amongst children of varying ages [NQS: 5.1.1 & EYLF: 1.4/2.1/2.3/4.1]. Dramatic play, dress -up fun was also explored.... Thank you for sharing Karen and children.

19.01.2022 Trick or Treat The children in care at Fiona's house have had a week full of Halloween fun. Three parties have been held, so that all children in care get to engage in experiences - how frightfully delicious does that party food look? Fiona tells us that "everybody got into the spirit and came dressed in amazing outfits. Children loved the parties and were full of awe and wonder at the spooky food."... Thank you for sharing your fabulous Halloween adventures with us Fiona and children.

14.01.2022 Here’s a lovely story to help children in their transition to school:

14.01.2022 Thank you Erni & children for sharing this lovely experience with us: "Children were busy playing outdoors, swinging, balancing on stilts, kicking and throwing balls, pulling toys along & sharing the big red car. Everyone was busy. Suddenly Mast Z. saw most of our mulberries were ripe. He shouted to me saying, "Erni, Erni the mulberries are ready to pick". I replied, "wait a minute. I will get a bowl to collect them and we can have them after lunch". All children were involv...ed. They learnt that they can only pick the ripe ones by indicated colours - black, the red and pink, they did not pick. Only Z and H had some after lunch. N and P were just happy to help pick the mulberries. (Outcomes : 2.4 Socially Responsible and Respect Environment)"

Thank you for your commitment to providing education and care within our service, for the past 8 years and all the very best for the future Brigid.

07.01.2022 NAIDOC Week - Remembrance Day - Diwali at Ashni's house Ashni has provided experiences rich in connection to culture, respect and community this week, as part of her educational program. Craft a plenty has been on offer, in relation to all three events, with videos, dramatic play and singing also catered for across the busy week.... Diwali holds special significance to Ashni and her family, so the children in care are very fortunate to be sensitised to "the festival of light" through participating in authentic body art, with heena painted onto their hands, diya and rangoli craft. They also enjoyed celebratory Diwali, culinary treats, as prepared by Ashni. Thank you for sharing your week with us Ashni and happy Diwali to you and your family. 06.01.2022 Master L is just one of the many children within our service that will be heading off to BIG school in 2021. I spent time with Master L at Michelle’s house this morning, seeing first hand his readiness for the transition to school. His increased concentration, self help skills, assertiveness, conversation & more. It truely is wonderfully rewarding to see young children enter our service, in Master L’s case he was 14 months old & observe the strong bonds between children, fa...milies & Educators strengthen over the years. Thanks for a lovely catch up this morning Master L & Michelle.

05.01.2022 What a pleasure it was to be out & about on my first creativity based visit for the new year. The children told me of their varied Christmas holiday experiences & adventures. Younger children chose to use cars dipped in paint to make tracks onto paper & school aged children selected to draw. They were encouraged to draw whatever they like, however conversation of their recent experiences definitely impacted creativity. Master A drew a sunset over the ocean, Miss L drew a mo...ntage of Christmas fun with her cousin & Master L drew two Christmas images. A real joy to sit, chat & watch the creativity unfold today. Thank you Nicole & children. [The calendar template was emailed to Educators late last year. We will email it out again tomorrow for those wanting to explore similar experiences ~ Narelle]

04.01.2022 BOO........from Brigid's house!!! The children in care have had a wonderful time dressing up and being creative, all in the name of Halloween fun and friendship. Thank you for sharing Brigid and children.

03.01.2022 Karen has shared these beautiful images with us today, along with an insight into the rational behind the experiences that eventuated. She has captured these moments in photos, with well documented learning stories and a program based on children's interests has clearly evolved: Karen: "I have been working with the children in finding ways to enable them to care and learn from the land. The children's learning in this area is evident as they use play to investigate, project a...nd explore new ideas and participate with others, demonstrating and increasing knowledge of respect for the environment and the interdependence between land, people, animals and plants - EYLF: Outcome 2." Karen mentions how excited the children were to harvest the garden, after 5 months of tending to the plants needs. The children then used spinach, oregano and chives (unfortunately, the tomatoes didn't survive the Winter frosts) when making their own pizzas. Karen went onto tell us how much learning eventuated throughout these experiences, with hands on exploration, conversation and enjoyment resulting in increased knowledge of sustainable practices, being one of the main learning outcomes. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us Karen and children - just wonderful

02.01.2022 The children at Rebecca A's house have been busily engaged in creativity and fun based around Halloween. Bec has provided a program rich in creative provisions to cater for the varied ages of children in care. With a little photo shoot just for fun too. Thanks for sharing this part of your week with us Bec and children.... [NQS: 1.1.2 / 1.1.3 / 1.2.3 / 1.3.3 /5.1.1 & EYLF: 2.1 / 4.1 / 4.4]

01.01.2022 We will be taking old CD’s, beads, pipe cleaners, glue, paint, sequins & glitter visiting for the remainder of this week. These supplies will be available for babies, toddlers, preschool & school aged children to engage with at their own age, stage & skill level, to create a Christmas ornament.

01.01.2022 NAIDOC Week at Narelle's house Narelle has emailed through these wonderful images of children celebrating NAIDOC Week. Narelle has provided a program that incorporates learning some of the meanings behind symbols, lots of craft and collecting flowers to place inside an aromatic bag the children have made to take home. Role play with baby dolls has also occurred, with children playing out a variety of scenarios using the dolls.... Thank you for emailing through these photos to share with us Narelle. [NQS: 1.1.1 / 1.1.2 / 5.2.1 / 6.2.3 & EYLF: 1.3 / 1.4 / 2.1 / 2.2 / 2.4 / 4.4]
