11.01.2022 One of our ex- Roo girls, Erin Skewes, was injured in Saturdays game against Inverell in Moree. Erin has spent the 2020 season training with and playing for Gunnedah & District Australian Football Club, where she has made a valuable impact both on the field showcasing her natural talent for footy, and off the field in her ability to foster strong relationships. We couldnt be more proud of her efforts in the 2020 season! As a club, we pride ourselves on the community an...d family culture we have worked hard to cultivate over many years. One of the things we love about footy is connecting with clubs with a similar culture to ours, and its clear that Gunnedah Bulldogs are one of those rare clubs. While we are always saddened and concerned when injury happens, these tough times really allow peoples true colours to show. Gunnedah called the game off after Erins injury, conceding a loss to the Inverell Saints in order to ensure their teammate received the care she needed. This amazing sportsmanship shows exactly where the Dogs priorities are people over points. We wish Erin all the best for a speedy recovery, and we thank Gunnedah and Moree & District Services Suns AFL Club for their care of Erin on Saturday. #oncearooalwaysaroo #roosfam #peopleoverpoints
11.01.2022 Shout out to todays WAPs (Water Assistance Personnel) - running water for our Rooboys and Moree Suns as well. This is what community footy is all about!

07.01.2022 COVID-19 got you sitting on the couch wondering how you can support your favourite footy club on what would have been the first round of the AFLNW 2020 season? We've got just the solution.. Buy a ticket in the Toyota Good For Footy Raffle! ... https://toyotagoodforfooty.raffletix.com.au/tamworthkangaro. It's so easy (you don't even have to change out of your ugg boots)!
06.01.2022 We might be late for Christmas (and even later from presentation night.) but we’re early for New Years! As the year draws to a close, it’s always good to take time and reflect upon the previous 12 months. TKAFC held our annual presentation night a few weeks back here is a full list of all our award winners! ... 2020 has undoubtedly thrown the world some curveballs, and our club has had an especially tough year as well. We started the year with the loss of one of our young gun Roosters, Jacob Vallendar. Another unexpected loss occurred halfway through the year with the passing of Old Buck and ex Club President, Zeb Taylor. A third loss at the end of the season with the passing of ex-Roo (turned Nomad) Ash Cruickshank. Whilst each loss shook us, we stood together as a family. Another loss the club suffered is found in not nominating a women’s team in the 2020 season. However, the women cemented their presence in the club, playing integral roles as volunteers, supporters and mates, with some Roogirls strapping the boots on and forging stronger relationships with our mates at the Moree & District Services Suns AFL Club and the Gunnedah & District Australian Football Club. Though we’ve had a rough year, one thing that stands out is the strength of spirit and positive culture within the club. Although COVID-19 has largely kept us apart, it feels like as a community we’re closer than ever before. Adversity and tough times has really brought the best our club has to offer to the forefront and has served as a timely reminder of what our club is all about the people it’s made up of. As always, we’re incredibly thankful for the support of our volunteers and sponsors over what has been a taxing year on everyone! 2021 will see some changes continue to take place with the Roos. Our #peopleoverpoints motto will guide us in the way we conduct ourselves on and off the field. Whilst we’re starting fresh with a new women’s team and a fairly young men’s side too, we’re confident that the off-field victories in the relationships we have as a club community will transfer into on-field victories in no time Stay tuned for announcement of pre-season training arrangements over the coming days (hint: its early, dust off those boots Roos!) but for now, enjoy your time with your families, and happy holidays!

03.01.2022 The executive of AFL North West wish to advise that they have decided to postpone the commencement of the 2020 season until after May 31st. This will include practice matches, Crossroads Cup and training. This difficult decision was made in accordance with advice from AFL NSW/ACT and is in line with the National direction. We are a game, but we are not the main game. The main game is looking after the community and that is the clear priority for everyone at the moment.... It is paramount that we continue to support one another and our community during this time and respect the advice coming from the medical experts. We ask that you please stay in touch with the club community; your coaches, committee and team members are still here. Getting through this period is about collective action, not 'individual risk' or 'individual wellness'. And remember: *Hand washing *Social distancing *Community thinking On behalf of TKAFC Committee, Southy // Secretary
