25.01.2022 Bulky Household Waste Collection is nearly complete. However some items will have been rejected. These will have a pink sticker attached to them. Any items that have been rejected are the responsibility of the residents to correctly dispose of. Letters will also be sent to properties with rejected items with educational information regarding correct disposal methods .... There is a CCTV fitted to the trucks so images of each property can be reviewed to determine if items were presented on time or after the collection date.

Did you know that you can dispose of small quantities of asbestos (less than 100kg or 10m2), by using prepaid asbestos bags that are available to purchase from the weighbridge at the tip for $15 per bag. The price of the bag includes the cost of disposal so when you return the sealed bags to the tip, you don’t have to pay any additional disposal fees. ... The additional buildings will complete the vision for the centre had by the Tamworth Regional Astronomy Club. 14.01.2022 A new safe crossing and path for cyclists from Tamworth to the Tamworth Mountain Bike Park is already attracting at least double the amount of cyclists, walking and running enthusiasts along the path. The Forest Road project was funded with $478,533 from the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund with a further contribution by Council by $115,000. "By providing a safe and accessible cycle way link from town all the way to the Mountain Bike Park we aim to encourage... healthy activities such as cycling, walking and joggin as an alternative to driving to the Park," Mayor, Col Murray, said (pictured with Jeff Benson from the Tamworth Mountain Bike Park and Kevin Anderson MP). Greenwaste delivered to the tip is processed, broken down and turned into a high quality mulch. ... The greenwaste is shredded and pushed into piles, where is it irrigated and turned regularly to fast-track the natural break down process.
