24.01.2022 Those were the days... https://www.facebook.com/tamworthwetlandsparkrun/videos/1835366809903474/

23.01.2022 I’m starting to get ready for parkrun on Saturday. There is one vacancy on the roster, a Photographer. If you are able to help please let us know. Yes you can use your phone if you wish to. Gerry. http://2.bp.blogspot.com//yI/s1600/agucho+photographer.jpg

23.01.2022 Good morning everyone! Hope you had a lovely walk or run this morning, followed by a refreshing coffee. If you're able to get out and about, remember there's plenty of space for everyone on the paths and don't be afraid to take a little detour on the grass. However if you find yourself doing laps around the dining table or backyard, be sure to change up the direction and path you take. Don't want to wear a track in the grass or carpet.... Just because we can't see your smiling faces doesn't mean we can't share what we're up to. Head on over to our community page and join up. Bonus points for silly hats, crazy socks (but I have you beat) and fun GPS run tracking art! https://www.facebook.com/groups/612167312533628/

21.01.2022 Here are some tips on how to make it through until #parkrunday replaces Saturday. Stay hydrated. No, wine does not count. Keep active. Climbing the walls? No. Wall climbing? Sure. ... Practice good physical distancing. This doesn't mean hiding in your bedroom when Dad asks you to empty the dishwasher. Don't start philosophical, moral or political debates with family members over social media. Just like at Christmas when Uncle saves his opinions until sufficiently lubricated, it never ends well. Plus it's way too easy for people to ignore your beautifully crafted takedown of their crazy view. If you're working from home and video conferencing, try dressing up. Giving a performance review to someone dressed as Bob the builder while you're in your dragon onesie is next level. Running is fun. Running to work off the 1.5kg mega egg you hid from everyone and treated yourself to is less fun. If you have tips and tricks you swear by, feel free to share them here or on the community page. Do it, or I'll record myself singing "We're All In This Together". See you soon gang.

20.01.2022 It's a beautiful day for a #parkrun! Come on down, fun is just 5km away!

16.01.2022 Event number 96 It turned out to be a lovely morning for the last parkrun of 2020, not too hot, not too cold, just right. Thank you to everyone who came along. If you're into resolutions I heard it's better to get started before the new year so when the 1st of January comes around you're already forming the habit. And what better way to keep building on that positive change than to come along to parkrun the very next day!... This week 34 people ran, jogged and walked the course. No first timers this week however 4 people recorded new Personal Bests, well done! The event was made possible by 8 lovely volunteers who generously donated their time: Sharon CHETWYND Casey GORDON Justin DAMHUIS Cameron DRAKE Lonnie BOLWERK Rex TION Andrew BROWNE Jessica NICO Tamworth Wetlands parkrun started on 11th August 2018. We forgot our anniversary this year so we'll have to have twice as much fun in 2021. See you next year! https://www.parkrun.com.au/tamworthwetlands//latestresults/

16.01.2022 Of course! Saturday is a great day for a PB.

15.01.2022 At this point we're still running tomorrow unless advised otherwise. If anything comes up we'll let you know.

13.01.2022 This is another call for Volunteers for Sat. We still need a Timekeeper and a Marshsal. Please comment here if you are available to fill this role. Cheers, Gerry. This is another call for Volunteers for Sat. We still need a Timekeeper and a Marshsal. Please comment here if you are available to fill this role. Cheers, Gerry.

12.01.2022 We might not be seeing each other on Saturday for a little while, but we can still try to keep active in other ways, support each other and share what we've been up to. If you want, feel free to share on the Tamworth Wetlands parkrun community page. Pics or it didn't happen!

12.01.2022 Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas from the team at TWp. Come on down for the usual on Boxing Day and show off your new gear or work off those crays. Yes, you can still rock an ugly Christmas singlet or shirt...

12.01.2022 We can make it through this. We don't know how long it will take, but you got this gang. And when that glorious day arrives, and the sun is shining and the skies are clear, or even if it's bucketing down, we'll see your smiling faces again. One day. We'll have a quick natter before the event and catch up. Wave and say hi as we spot an old friend while doing the five. Then relax and have a laugh with a mate over a cuppa. One day, Saturday will be #parkrunday again.

12.01.2022 One Volunter needed. Sorry to annoy you again but we still need a Volunteer Timekeeper for this Sat. Please reply here if you are willing to take on that role. Once filled I can send out the Vollies Reminder notice. Thank you.

12.01.2022 With all events cancelled worldwide it's important we still find ways to keep active, and quite frankly amuse ourselves... To keep in practice of getting people to volunteer, I did the rounds at home. Didn't go as well as I'd hoped, think I need more practice.

12.01.2022 Apologies for how long it took to post these. Unfortunately a couple turned out too blurry to post (lets just put that down to those people running too fast and not my dodgy camera haha). Merry Christmas everyone!!!

10.01.2022 Helloo all my TW Wetlands parkrun family Just checkin in....hope you are all well? So who is still putting on the runners and getting the 5kms done? ... Even though we need to self distance, I for one need to keep exercising for my mental and physical health. How about posting a photo of where you ran or walked, let's try and keep ourselves motivated. I'm running up and down my streets close to my house, and early to avoid as many as possible. My last run rewarded me with a beautiful sunrise. Please ensure you self distance and practice all the measures recommended for our health and safety at this time... Let's fill the page with happy pics. Virtual hugs to you all Sharon

10.01.2022 For those missing parkrun

08.01.2022 It’s parkrunday. It might rain but we will still run. BOM indicates the rain will stay out to sea, as the rain clouds are moving south not east, so don’t use rain as an excuse to stay in your nice comfy bed. Come on down.

02.01.2022 Any reason to dress up is a good reason in my book. Happy Star Wars day!

01.01.2022 Events at Tamworth Wetlands parkrun have been suspended. I'll be there to let people know what's happening in case they miss the announcements. Kind regards, Cameron

01.01.2022 With all the new walkers and runners out and about, it might be time to bring this out again.

01.01.2022 These are my not compression socks. Perfect for my (not)parkrun. If you've run 5km this week, enter it in the (not)parkrun section of your parkrun profile at https://www.parkrun.com/profile/notparkrun and then tell us all about it on our community page. Not everyone can rock sushi tacos but don't let that hold you back.
