25.01.2022 Well we have been at this for almost 9 years and unfortunately we have had a little mishap. Just a very small fire in the kitchen which has put us out of commission for a couple of days. No serious damage but kitchen has sustained smoke damage and the smell is not nice in the dining room either. We look forward to getting back to business very soon!

21.01.2022 We received an order from Hannah which we responded to with the following message! Hannah, we appreciate that you were hungry and didn't get the meal that you ordered through Menulog. In your order you specifically indicated that you wanted all your dishes to be Vegan. We understand that all Vegans are Vegetarians, but not all Vegetarians are Vegans. Out of concern for you my wife Nop, the Chef, spotted your request for an all Vegan take away and rang you to discuss what we ...can offer. We do not pretend, or advertise anywhere that we can offer Vegan options in our menu. Nop as almost every one who eats at our restaurant knows is Thai. Her English is OK but she does not have the verbal skills of a native English speaker. Nop was attempting to say to you that although the company that makes some of the the curry sauces does not list any meat products or by products in the list of ingredients, it clearly states on the container as a disclaimer, that the same factory also produces peanuts, sesame oils and shrimp paste. Some people would read into that, as did Nop, that there may be traces of peanuts, sesame oils and shrimp paste in the product. It is well known to us that there are varying levels of Vegetarianism(if there is such a word). Some will sometimes reluctantly and sometimes happily have egg, or fish sauce (this is a major flavour enhancer in Thai cooking, which we replace with cooking salt for Vegetarians) or dairy (milk, cream etc.) as a very small part of their meal. [We don't use any dairy products in our food unless you ask for a white coffee]. When people in the restaurant ask us about our vegetarian options, we try to explain what the constraints are. We ask in our menu for people to make our staff aware if the do have allergies in which case those ingredients are eliminated from the dish. The issue of what constitutes a vegetarian or vegan dish is often a very vexed issue leading, sometimes to heated discussion. We do what we can. 18.01.2022 Well that escalated quickly! Sorry folks...all the movie tickets have been claimed. We have had a busy couple of nights. There will be 120 very happy people going to the movies over the next few weeks!

16.01.2022 Last night our phone/internet connection was disrupted at about 7.30pm. Many of you who tried to ring to order a take away or make a Mother's Day booking received no answer. We apologize for the inconvenience but it has now been rectified. We should be at the restaurant by 11am this morning if you need to book.

15.01.2022 It appears that the Menulog and Eatnow servers are experiencing an outage. They are working on the problem but in the meantime if you need to place an order please ring us at the restaurant on 8376 5155. We can provide credit card facility when we deliver.

14.01.2022 A very special thanks to all the competitors in the Australian Women's Golf Open who dined with us on a regular basis this week. It was really great to see such genuine friendship off the golf course as well! Classy ladies who love quality Thai food! ( they have been coming 3 years in a row and they say they will be back next year! )

14.01.2022 Yes the clunky old entrance has been replaced with this new entrance way. The biggest impact has been on the internal atmosphere of the restaurant. 12.01.2022 Well for the last several weeks I have hesitated to post anything because everything has been changing so rapidly. It is a total understatement to say we’re are in very challenging times. To be perfectly frank we don’t know how we will come out at the other end. We have a very small and tenuous lifeline. We can and will offer our normal take away food for pick up and delivery. The government as you no doubt now know has instructed all restaurants to cease dine in meals which... we have complied with. Unless you have been confined to your home, it would greatly assist our survival potential if you were to order your take away by phone and come in and pick it up. We are still accepting orders for delivery through UberEATS and Deliveroo. We have suspended orders through Menulog for the time being. Please be aware that we are now operating with minimal staff and your patience with orders will be appreciated. We too are experiencing difficulties with obtaining quality ingredients at less than stratospheric prices if at all. Not all dishes are available because of this. 12.01.2022 We owe a great big thanks to all our long term customers that have given us a real heart felt welcome back after our COVID19 hiatus. Your support and great words of encouragement in the last couple of days has given us the realisation that we have made the right decision to reopen the restaurant. We have survived some tough times in the last ten years and we know we are now in uncertain times but we are going to give it our best shot. Dine in may not be a viable option for some time but ordering take away (food and wine and beer) through our own website www.tanapathai.com.au is the very best way to ensure our viability into the future. We are certainly looking forward to meeting many more of you again in the weeks ahead.

09.01.2022 Tanapa Thai is having Phone issues at the moment. The NBN people have been installing cabling at the front of the restaurant and we suspect we may have been disconnected in the process. Yes we are still here and serving delicious Thai food. If you need to order take away you can do it through our website (yes our internet is still working) or do it through Uber eats, Menulog or Deliveroo. We have been told that the outage may take until 30th July to rectify. We apologize for any inconvenience
