22.01.2022 Here is our high end penetrating sealer being applied. It is a crucial part of the finishing process. The sealer penetrates the concrete creating a protective seal. It creates a matte finish keeping the raw beauty of the concrete with a slight colour enhancement. 17.01.2022 LEMONADE. One of our favourites in the pastel shades. Initially we were aiming for a pink with a cooler undertone but the oxide used in this one is a red one and the resultant colour is a beautiful pink with a slight warm apricot/peach undertone. How the colours will look in situ will also depend on your colour scheme surrounding the basin. Quite a few have been snapped up and the feedback has been really positive. 13.01.2022 Sooooo....this happened yesterday! Weve been quiet on social media recently (which isnt necessarily strange for us, Im either all over it... or not) because weve had lots happening. Weve put our house on the market! Were on a high of excitment. Its a new chapter for our family and business. And check out that beautiful sky and cloud formation over our house. Its absolutely luminous. It must be a sign. ... New basin shapes are in the works. Were so excited about this. It will be great to be able to offer something different to our customers. Weve been working on our own laundry sink and bench top. Weve been working on a name change. We loved GS Concrete Studio as our relatively new name, but unfortunately we were unaware the words concrete studio were trademarked. So a change of name was necessitated. The initials GS had to stay because they represent our beautiful girls Grace and Stella. And we were fortunately able to change it to something pretty similar. So henceforth we will be known as GS Casting Studio. Were still in the process of updating our website etc but we will keep you posted in that regard. 04.01.2022 WHO ARE WE We are Adam and Caroline Reid. The husband and wife behind GS Concrete Studio. We were formally Tanda Concrete until our daughters Grace and Stella were born, who are the inspiration behind the new name. Adam comes from a twenty-year background in solid plastering. Adam discovered concrete design after the birth of Grace and started experimenting at home. His extensive background in the trade made him well placed to branch out into this exciting new venture. He has... since undertaken training with Pop Concrete in Brisbane, honing his skills in concrete design, in particular, using Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete (GFRC). Caroline works behind the scenes running the business, building the brand, managing social media and all the other little bits and pieces that go into running a family business. Adam and Caroline work together designing new shapes and experimenting with new colours. Our influences stretch far and wide. Caroline looks everywhere for ideas and inspiration. If she sees a beautiful piece of art, a glorious piece of clothing, homewares that make her look twice, literally anything, she snaps it and catalogues it for future inspiration. Grace and Stella are our most treasured creations. But GS Concrete Studio is our other baby. WHAT WE DO We create bespoke concrete products. Basins are our speciality and we hope to offer custom pieces in the near future . Concrete is our passion. We love concrete because no piece is exactly the same. Each piece has character. We aim to put beautiful concrete pieces in your home. We pride ourselves on our meticulous attention to detail and quality artisanship. Concrete perfectly compliments any home, work or play environment. We love it so much it features in our own home which we are currently renovating. WHAT IS GFRC Our products are made using GFRC which is a specialised form of concrete with many applications. It is similar to chopped fibreglass (the kind used to form boat hulls and other complex three-dimensional shapes). It is made by combining a mixture of fine sand, cement, polymer, water, other admixtures and alkali-resistant (AR) glass fibres. Some of the many benefits of GFRC include: Ability to Construct Lightweight Products although the relative density is similar to concrete, GFRC products can be much thinner than traditional concrete, making them lighter.
