We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. 05.01.2022 Long post warning!! What is an Intern at Tandara? If you would like to know keep reading An Intern lives in a unit called 'Jacks Shack'. This is a 4 bedroom unit, all bedrooms have ensuites, so no worrying about untidy house mates. The Shack has a lounge, kitchen and FREE wifi! We encourage family to come and visit and if bookings permit it they can stay on site at the camp. ... Study - All interns work towards completing a Sport n Rec Certificate through South West Tafe and a Christian Ministry Certificate through Australian Lutheran College. You will be given study time during work hours to assist with these requirements. Australian Ropes Course Builders along with our programmer Justin will give you on site training with our High Ropes and all other Tandara led activities. Work - We perform all camp activites, once training is given and the Intern is confident. This will include meal preparation and serving, cleaning, programming and general maintenance around the camp. Money - yes you do get paid, you will be working under the Hospitality Traineeship award. And you are either able to claim a Living away from home allowance or Youth Allowance, you are also eligible for a Healthcare card. We provide accommodation, basic food and wifi, the only thing that you will need to pay for is your mobile phone, petrol and special treats like ice creams from the famous Coolas Ice Creamery. If the opportunity arises you may be able to assist at our other camp in Angelsea during the year and visit the beach! An opportunity may arise for future employment at both camps after your Internship is completed. Camps - We have many groups visit during the year and we have developed some lovely friends out of camping. We run a Kids Camp - Interns are encouraged to CoDirect under the guidance of Tandara staff and a Lutheran Pastor. We also have a 500 Camp (most Lutheran's know 500, I would suggest a crash course in it!) We also have CLWs that are run by the Lutheran Youth of Victoria visit, along with Lutheran Men and Women of Victoria. We enjoy these Lutheran groups and their fellowship. We have lots of other church, youth groups and schools that attend throughout the year. Halls Gap is a beautiful place to be surrounded in God's creation and get away for the year! You will be living in a small community where staff will assist and guide you, especially important if this is your first time away from home. 03.01.2022 Our first camp back after lockdown!! (All under covid guidelines and recommendations from dhhs) We welcomed the Year 8's and staff from Good Shepherd College Hamilton Even though the weather may have been just a little rainy and windy, they managed a jam packed 3 days of hiking, high ropes, initiatives and catchups with each other after covid.
