22.01.2022 The Australian Government has zero tolerance for family and domestic violence against anyone in the Australian community, including permanent and temporary visa holders. Data from the Australian Institute of Criminology suggests that the COVID-19 pandemic has coincided with the onset or escalation of violence and abuse for many women. The Australian Government has invested $1 billion since 2013 to address family and domestic violence, including $130 million provided directly ...to State and Territory governments to support frontline services to meet demand during the COVID-19 pandemic. To support the Government’s efforts to assist victims of family and domestic violence, the Department has prepared an FAQ document that includes information on arrangements the Department has in place to support visa holders and applicants affected by family and domestic violence. 18.01.2022 Pending ongoing health advice, WA’s new controlled interstate border regime will commence on 14 November replacing the existing hard border arrangements. 13.01.2022 WA TO OPEN UP WA’s hard border will be replaced with a controlled border on November 14, reuniting the State with the rest of the country including NSW and Victoria. Travellers from every State and Territory will be permitted into WA, with only those arriving from Victoria and NSW required to self-quarantine at a suitable premise for a fortnight. Interstate arrivals will be screened and have their temperature taken at Perth Airport as they arrive and must be prepared to submit to COVID-19 testing.

08.01.2022 REIWA data out today shows the Perth vacancy rate has fallen to 0.96 per cent, the lowest level in 13 years and only the third time in 40 years is has dropped below 40 per cent. ABS data shows investor participation in WA is starting to increase, rising to 17 per cent after bottoming out at 14.5 per cent in April, this figure is still well below the over-30 per cent rate recorded five years ago.

01.01.2022 Wheel clamping is set to be banned by Christmas after the WA Government's legislation to put an end to the practice passed its final hurdle in Parliament. Transport Minister Rita Saffioti said now the legislation had passed the Lower House today, regulation would be finalised with the aim of having the laws in place by Christmas.
