25.01.2022 Today we begun the Freo burger challenge, starting at Big Rigz Burger Co. (first of 6). Over the next few weeks we will be visiting all the burger establishments to give you the low-down. Bigrigz has a varied menu with a Korean twist. The burgers were generous in size. Kim had the Korean King, Andre and Darren had the Smoky Rigz and Karina had the Big Rigz.

25.01.2022 Burger week number #2 saw us head to Grill'd Burgers Fremantle. Today's burger were juicy and delicious, pairing them with some rosemary salted chips and a cold drink made them even better. Kim had the Chilli Addict and Darren, Karina and Andre were copy cats with the Sir Truffle.

24.01.2022 Manning Park covers over 117 hectares and makes up the north-west sector of the Beeliar Regional Park. The park encompasses significant cultural and historic sites for both indigenous people and European settlers. The park has been a popular recreation area with locals for many years, particularly the established grassed play areas near the Manning Lake. Whilst well known to locals, in the wider community most people outside of the surrounding suburbs are not even aware of its existence. In 2017 Landscape Architects UDLA were commissioned to develop a masterplan for the park. 23.01.2022 Happy Friday folks, another great lunch, the Italian Challenge continues, this time at La Sosta. This weeks special guest was Viv Preston from Max Geo and we were celebrating Andre's impending fatherhood.Great lunch the pasta of the day Ravioli was brilliant. Andre & Darren continued their Marinara crusade and Viv enjoyed the Risotto. Cheers folks, enjoy the weekend!

23.01.2022 Last Friday was a day trip to Port Hedland, first time in 35 years. We are designing a signage style guide for the Town of Port Hedland. Currently the town has no guidelines for signage and needs to develop one for a more planned approach to signage design and fabrication. Port Hedland hasn't changed that much but South Hedland sure has. Now we know what's there, what required and what's redundant.

21.01.2022 Well Friday lunch was a slightly different affair last week as two of us were "in the field" so to speak. I was doing a site visit to Port Hedland for the day and enjoyed a Caesar Salad and a ginger beer at a cafe in South Hedland Shopping Centre. Darren was out prospecting in the bush and enjoyed a curried egg roll . As for Andre we don't what he got up to as he didn't take a photo! Hope you all had a great weekend.

20.01.2022 The Italian theme continues, today we visited Porta Rosa on Market Street. Kim, Andre, Darren and old friend and client Mike Rosenstreich. Had an enjoyable lunch. Andre, Darren and Mike had Tagliatelle Portorosa while I had the Caserecce All'Arrabbiata all washed down with a lovely Italian Pinot Grigio. Here's to a busy week and a relaxing weekend.

19.01.2022 Lockdown lunch number two, last Friday - weather was a bit blowy so we had lunch in the studio artroom. Pasta from our friends around the corner at "Pasta Addiction" washed down with a Tasmanian "Devils Corner" Sav Blanc. All went down rather nicely too!

18.01.2022 Very late post folks, it's been a busy week! Last Friday we dined at Bathers Beach House which is within spitting distance of the ocean. Joining us was client and good mate Mike Rosenstreich, web designer/developer Ben Smith, self, Andre and Darren. Lunch was very pleasant with Darren going the croquettes, Andre the Barramundi, Mike had the Marinara, Ben went the burger and i had the mussels. Enjoyed a few tasty beers, particularly outstanding was the Rocky Ridge Baby Peach Hazy IPA. Lovely afternoon. This Friday lunch will be somewhat different. Andre will be holding the fort in Freo, I'll be in Port Hedland and Darren will be dining on flies somewhere out near Mt Augustus. Bon Appétit Darren! Photos will be posted!

18.01.2022 The Italian theme continues! This Friday we lunched at Ruoccos, its been awhile. Joining us today was our old work colleague Peter Faulkner and as usual Darren. Andres off to Margaret River for the weekend so he left early. Pete went for the Ruoccos Especial pizza, I had the gnocchi Gorgonzola and Darren the Pasta Vongole. Enjoyed with a tasty Pinot Grigio. Whats not to like. Have a great weekend everyone.

17.01.2022 Today we lunched at the Norfolk Hotel Beer Garden. Lovely afternoon to be sitting outside enjoying lunch and a few quiet beers with Andre, Mike, self and Darren. Andre went for the burger, Darren the Buttermilk Chicken Burger and myself and Mike enjoyed the brisket from the smoker. Cheers folks - enjoy the weekend!

17.01.2022 Last and First Hi folks all the best for 2021. Looking forward to a less chaotic year than last! I kind of ran out of steam at the end of last year with my Tangelo lunch posts, I was just looking forward to knocking off for 3 weeks. We finished year with lunch at La Cabana in South Fremantle. It was beautiful afternoon in in the sunshine enjoying some great Mexican street food followed by a few cleansing ales at the new Running with Thieves Brewery across the road. This year we've kicked off with lunch at Gypsy Tapas. Enjoyed some great tapa's washed down with some Forge Brewing beers from Bridgetown. Hope you all have a great year, Cheers, Kim

16.01.2022 Late post - Forgot to post last weeks edition of the "Freo Italian Challenge". We dined at Sandrino's on the Strip with Andre, Darren and old mining mate Jim Kerr. Great lunch Darren tried it on as usual for his customised pasta - no go! so he settled for the Marinara, same for Andre. Jim tucked into the grilled seafood and I enjoyed the Chicken Pesto tortellini. All of which was washed down with a couple of bottles of Pinot Gregio!

16.01.2022 Fridays done right with the Tangelo team (plus Darren) exploring another Freo burger joint. Today we have lunch at Meet & Bun - Fremantle. Karina and Andre had the Ari Gold, Kim had the Danny's Southern Fried Chicken and Darren had the Chilli Chilli Bang Bang.

14.01.2022 Late post - last Friday lunch with a difference. Andre and I had just finished the Collie - Wellington Wayfinding Signage Strategy audit so we celebrated with a beer and a pizza at the Wild Bull Brewery at the head of Ferguson Valley before heading back to Freo. Unfortunately we ate everything and drank most of our beer before remembering to take a photo. Cheers!

Mike, Greg, Darren, Andre & Kim started with a beer at the new "Calamity's Rod" bar at the Hougoumont Hotel on Bannister St, followed by lunch at the National and rounded off with a gin and tonic at our mates new establishment the "Republic of Fremantle" distillery on Packenham St. Cheer's folks here's to a wonderful weekend.

13.01.2022 Today we sat outside in the sun at Sealanes Seafood Market for some fresh fish & chips and fish tacos. We then called into the South Beach Hotel for a sneaky cold drink.

12.01.2022 Friday sort of lockdown lunch - Kim and Darren going the healthy option at our favourite South Freo pub The Local. Darren already looking a bit crazy eyed after one beer.

12.01.2022 The City of Fremantle Strategic Community Plan 2015-2025 aims to have Fremantle recognised as a pedestrian and cycle friendly city and sets a target to double riding to work from 2.9% to 5.8% by 2018. 11.01.2022 Low key lunch today, finally ran out of Italian options so Andre and I went for a Raman at Freo Markets followed by a quiet beer - no Darren today!

10.01.2022 Happy Friday folks!! Today we visited the new restaurant in Freo called Funkee Monkee at James St. Great food washed down by the Funkee Monkee beer and some other craft beers. We also had the special presence of Mike and Eli to celebrate Andre's birthday. Hope you all enjoy the weekend.

08.01.2022 The Fremantle Magpies are one of the oldest hockey clubs in Perth and since the 60s have called Fremantles Stevens Reserve home. Like all Perth hockey clubs for the club to stay viable they need to have an artificial turf pitch. 07.01.2022 Bit late I know but we enjoyed a fantastic lunch at Villa Roma last Friday with David Reid, Darren, Andre & Kim. The place was really buzzing and we were lucky to get a table. David had the fish, Darren was angling for a customised pasta dish but was quickly put in his place whilst Andre and I enjoyed some fantastic lamb shanks.

04.01.2022 Bit late I know but we enjoyed Friday's lunch at Little Creatures Brewery down on the harbour. The usual Tangelo team of Andre, Darren and Kim were joined this week by old mate Jason Townes. This week Andre went for the Barramundi, I had the burger, Darren went for the fish cakes and Jason had the pizza. All washed down with a few Little Creature's Freo Lagers. 03.01.2022 Another successful Friday lunch. This week myself, Andre and our mate Matt Jessup ventures down to the recently opened Running with Thieves brewery and distillery in South Fremantle. It’s a big venue, lots of beers to choose from. Food menu is a bit limited I’m sure the selection will improve. Our friend Matt is a saturation diver and has recently returned from an extended dive season in the North Sea. Matt says he’d be in the chamber reading our Friday lunch posts on Facebook so now that he’s home we thought we’d better invite him along. Cheers folks!

02.01.2022 Well after a great Friday lunch at Villa Roma we thought it was in order to do a follow up lunch at the Capri. In my youth, you were either a Capri family or a Roma family once the decision had been made that was it - no going back. Bit like Gino's Vs Papa Luigis. Fortunately tribalism has relaxed and we can enjoy the fruits of both. After lunch we followed up with a cleansing ale at the Beerporium. Wonderful venue overlooking South Terrace yet hardly anyone there? Staff less than friendly, would really like to see this place do well, hopefully.
