22.01.2022 Well, that was the most traumatic thing i've done all day. I share this with the community as a valuable learning experience and also as an opportunity to own one of these pieces. This beautiful 3m x 1.2m table is now three pieces, not one and it's entirely because of a monumental cock up on my part. If any of you saw the previous pics of this table, you might remember I inserted some banksia pods as a bit of a surprise for the clients. I've surprised clients with stuff ...like this before because I think it improves the aesthetics of the piece and they've always been absolutely stoked with the additions. This time, not so much. The clients absolutely loved the table, were extremely impressed with the workmanship and said it came out better than they thought it would. But.....the wife absolutely hated the banksia pods (maybe she had them thrown at her in her younger years and it brings back horrible memories, who knows....). But, that's her prerogative. So, the fact remains, i put something I thought was cool into a table I wasn't keeping. So, don't do this kids, it's a bad idea, even if your intentions are good. Or, at the very least, clear it with the client first. Always. So, if anyone in Australia is interested, the big piece is 1800 x 1200mm and ~40mm thick and the small piece is 400 x 1200mm and ~40mm thick. The medium piece is already sold. Im happy to cut to size if you require a different size, both pieces will need refinishing anyway. The large piece is $6,000 plus shipping and does not include legs. PM me and I can provide you with options. The small piece (same deal with the legs as above) is $1,500 plus shipping. If i chop the big piece into two 1200 x 900mm coffee tables, they'll be $3,000 each including hairpin legs (2-pin or 3-pin, buyers choice). 22.01.2022 This table is starting to come together. Loads more sanding still to do but now I can see the bones of the finished product. There were casualties though (see second pic). The interface pad that exploded flung a piece of fairly hard foam right into my junk from a distance of about a foot and a half.
