25.01.2022 Whilst we're enjoying the buzz from the good news about improving markets, just as important is keeping abreast of the raft of legislation that keeps coming down the line. This year there is to be a full review of the Residential Tenancies Act. This is the legislation that sets the conditions of the standard residential tenancy agreement detailing the rights and obligations of lessors and tenants. There have been changes over time - you will be familiar with some of them e.g.... smoke alarms and safety switches - however, it is over 30 years since there was a full review and significant changes are on the way. We'll keep you up to date along the way but if you'd like to check things out for yourself there is a great deal of interesting reading on the Department of Commerce website - https://www.commerce.wa.gov.au//your-house-my-home-rethink "Commissioner for Consumer Protection David Hillyard said a lot has changed since the last full review of the Residential Tenancies Act 1987 and he is encouraging the community to get involved and have a say, so lasting improvements can be made for both tenants and landlords." 17.01.2022 Welcome Cath. Its high time we introduced you to Cath, our assistant Property Manager. She has worked with us for several years on a casual basis but is now based in our office and I can't tell you how delighted I am to have her here. She has a lively and bubbly personality, a great sense of humour, she's very 'down to earth' and she gives her best effort to everything she does. Cath has over 15 years of experience in the housing industry, with an extensive knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act. Experience is something you just can’t buy. Great to have you around Cath.

09.01.2022 A belated Welcome to 2020 with much better news of the rental market and also the sales market. I am really glad to be able to tell you this after what has been a lengthy and gloomy period in real estate. REIWA reports increased sales activity and we are already aware of a significant increase in leasing activity. That’s my job - keeping your investment occupied with good tenants and getting the best rent possible at whatever state the market is in. We are feeling positive about the year ahead.
