24.01.2022 Australian Tang Soo Tao Federation Inc Tang Soo Tao Melbourne Tang Soo Tao Daylesford The tournament is approaching fast (8 weeks away!) and the Geelong school is getting excited for a fun and eventful weekend! Our tournaments are such an exciting event because they only happen every few years. It’s a great opportunity for students and instructors to learn and compete with other schools. The seminars on the Saturday are a fantastic way for karate kids, Gups, and Dans to tr...ain with a different instructor. I urge students to get their registration forms in ASAP! If you’re having doubts or you’re not sure about the competition, just go for it! It’s never too late to register for the tournament! If you’re in need of a tournament form please don’t hesitate to contact your instructor - or contact Kyo Sa Nim Demo (Sofia) at 0432023655 and receive a form to fill out. For those who have registered and are training for the tournament - we are now after numbers for the post-tournament dinner. The event is booked at a local venue (Fyansford Hotel) and it’s $30 per head. This will include a ticket and the finger food package. 15.01.2022 Today we celebrate Master Robert Caputo's 70th birthday. He was a visionary who started his first school in Darwin in 1974 which was to become Tang Soo Tao. Aft...er years travelling the world training in all styles and with any practitioner he finally formulated his beliefs about martial arts and his desire to see spiritual development being both integral and central to martial training. Through his power, enthusiasm and guidance he created an energy that transcended his own life and today those that were inspired by his philosophy continue to drive Tang Soo Tao forward. 14.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I hope you are all well and dealing with any isolation issues as best you can. Remember there are regular classes on Zoom now for every level. If y...ou haven't joined in on one yet then contact your instructor for the details. I have attended 4 so far and they are great. Looking through my archives I decided to share just a few photos from the Daylesford tournament and will upload more from different events as time goes by. Finally, I was watching an interview with the Australian cricket coach on television and he shared a great quote that "The pain of discipline is nothing like the pain of disappointment". Master Caputo in his book said that Martial Arts both relied on and generated "Discipline and Spirit". I believe a little bit of something every day is better than a whole lot of something from time to time.So stretch in the morning, meditate, do some forms or just go for a walk. Tang Soo!
