22.01.2022 A huge congratulations to Sa Bom Franklin who graded to 5th Dan last weekend, after nearly 30 years in Tang Soo Tao!
15.01.2022 Had this lovely email and pictures from Master Damien Smith in Daylesford and YES it did snow on that day!! Dear Sa Bom Nim, Ko Dan Ja and Yu Dan Ja. 9 kids and their parents made their way through the snow to the coldest venue in town to attend the final session for the foreseeable future! We had a small presentation and a great class! ... Tang Soo! Damo Please make a comment of support for Damien and the Daylesford school. Tang Soo! Sa Bom Nim
15.01.2022 Late last year our Darwin school's application for a $5290 Community Organisation Grant was approved. They used the funds to purchase new training equipment, hardware for a new online system and signage. This is a great initiative by the Northern Territory Government and as a not for profit organisation we appreciate the assistance! (Master Mather - Darwin)
15.01.2022 Another wonderful milestone for our organisation to celebrate. Tang Soo!!- Sa Bom Tara
10.01.2022 Dear students, instructors and friends of Tang Soo Tao. On Sunday evening the Federation’s committee met for a general meeting. In the past this required a phone hook up which could cost in excess of $300 with committee members logging in from around Australia. Now it’s free on Zoom!! How good is that. We can not only see each other, we can share documents on the screen in real time. It’s great. Like most committee’s members are elected at the AGM with the current President... being Master Nathan Franklin. It may seem strange to some of you that the Sa Bom Nim is not automatically the president (although I have had my turn) but it’s important to note that the Fed Committee deals with all things administrative and financial whilst the Sa Bom Nim and other seniors deal with all things martial. There are cross overs sometimes but we seem to deal with that smoothly enough. Like all committee meetings we accept the previous minutes and deal with agenda items. Then we have a report from each school to check on student numbers and how each school is travelling, we then deal with other business. Again, I am happy to say that generally the process runs well. Much of Sunday’s meeting focussed around the Covid situation in general but more importantly how it is affecting the Victorian schools who make up 3 of our current 5 schools. Melbourne is in lock down and they are migrating back to online classes whilst Geelong and Daylesford are under stage 3 restriction and can train under strict guidelines. Student numbers are down across the board but not drastically and we hope, eventually, that everyone can return to normal training sooner rather than later but who really knows. As I have said before, the Tang Soo Tao family needs to look out for each other as well as for any vulnerable people in their community. Even know not being able to train is a drag, not being able to work or even go outside is much worse. Why not reach out to those you know to make sure they are Ok. Thank you. As I said to the Maroochydore students last night, martial arts helps prepare us for battle. Thankfully, not on the battle field with weapons but as in this case for whatever life throws at us. Lets use those skills to work through this challenge together as a team and as a Tang Soo family. TANG SOO!!! Anthony Sa Bom Nim See more

02.01.2022 Dear friends and family Yesterday afternoon our beloved Sa Bom Nim, Rinpoche student and friend; Anthony Brown passed away peacefully with his beloved wife Sa Bom Suzanne Brown and close friends Master Spielkamp and Master Silo by his side. Master Spielkamp has requested that I contact you to invite you to a special celebration of Anthony Brown's life; a Guru Puja, to be hosted by our Venerable Zasep Tulku Rinpoche on Thursday the 7th of January at 9.00am Brisbane EST (3.00pm..., 6th of January for our Canadian friends). This will be conducted via Rinpoche's ZOOM link and everyone is welcome. If you need to have the ZOOM link sent to you, please messenger me and I will do this. If you know of other people who would like to join us, please feel free to pass this invitation on to them. They do not need to be a Rinpoche student or martial artist to participate. Love to all Tara
