25.01.2022 Quote of the day: Don't let the expectations and opinions of other people affect your decisions. It's your life, not theirs. Do what matters most to you; do what makes you feel alive and happy. Don't let the expectations and ideas of others limit who you are. If you let others tell you who you are, you are living their reality not yours. There is more to life than pleasing people. There is much more to life than following others' prescribed path. There is so much more to life than what you experience right now. You need to decide who you are for yourself. Become a whole being. Adventure. Roy T. Bennett Have a great day everyone

24.01.2022 By default, my coaching has developed into two main areas that are so crucially connected. The rider's mind and the rider's posture on board the horse. I awakened to how much our mind and our thinking influences our posture on the horse, and how much our horses respond to the smallest energetic shifts we make in the saddle. Addressing your mind is where it begins. ... So many riders struggle with self belief and become attached to fear. Some are directly related to the horse and the riding , but most are unrelated. Stemming from things that happened way back in our childhood, an impact when we were growing up. I commonly find that these 'bottom draw' issues come up when we least expect them. They keep haunting us until we find a way to resolve them. Horses have a way to open these bottom draws for us, if we want to or not. https://tanja-mitton-mindset.myshopify.com

06.01.2022 Quote of the day: So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning. Mitch Albom, Have a great day everyone

03.01.2022 Quote of the day: The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Have a great day everyone

03.01.2022 Tanja’s Tuesday Tip Where are you looking? The rider’s eyes are often glued to the horse’s head and neck. ... If you are focusing that the horse is working well, you naturally want to check to SEE if he/she is really going well. The problem is that by looking at the horses head and neck, you find that you are looking down more than you are looking up. Looking down means that you are tipping forward and shifting your weight over the horse’s chest instead of being balanced. The more you ‘look’ how good you horse is going, the worse it might get. So, where should you be looking? Instead of looking down, look up. Instead of looking at your horse’s neck, look at the horizon. Lift your head and ‘see’ what is in your sight. You might see treetops, shed roofs, houses in the distance.. I generally get riders to call out what they can see when they look up, until they are more confident with the line on the horizon they are meant to follow. It is a very simple but very effective exercise. Let me know how you go with this one. Happy riding, Tanja xx

02.01.2022 I have learned from my own experience, that our mind is more powerful than our actions. You achieve what you believe you can and success only comes when you are willing to change. My journey began as a competitor and trainer, focusing on external results and outcomes. Competition wins were important to me and external validation kept me looking for more. Now 40 years on, I finally start to understand what really counts. Most of us are looking outwardly for proof of success, w...orthiness, and love but it is not until we learn to look inwards that we are able to find what we are searching for. This awareness has greatly influenced my teaching and now I look for the horses’ guidance rather than trying to dominate them. By default, my coaching has developed into two main areas that are so crucially connected. The rider’s mind and the rider’s posture on the horse. I have understood how much our mind, our thinking influences our posture on the horse and how much horses respond to the smallest movements we make in the saddle. I constantly hear riders say I have a good position, I don’t need a lesson on that. I need help with training my horse. But here is the point. Horses reflect the rider in the way they respond and move. If you have training issues you first need to address yourself because horses more often then not become our mirror. Addressing your mind is where it begins. So many riders struggle with self believe and fear issues. Some are directly related to the horse and the riding but most are unrelated, stemming from things that happened way back in our childhood when we were growing up. I commonly find that these ‘bottom draw’ issues come up when we least expect them and they keep haunting us until we find a way to resolve them. Horses have a way to open these bottom draws for us, if we want to or not. If you are seeking personalised equestrian coaching, tailor fit to your own personal needs, please reach out.
