24.01.2022 I love this analogy! You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere. W...hy did you spill the coffee? "Because someone bumped into me!!!" Wrong answer. You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup. Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea. *Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.* Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out. It's easy to fake it, until you get rattled. *So we have to ask ourselves... what's in my cup?"* When life gets tough, what spills over? Joy, gratefulness, peace and humility? Anger, bitterness, harsh words and reactions? Life provides the cup, YOU choose how to fill it. Today let's work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation; and kindness, gentleness and love for others. (Shared from a friend whose cup is full of goodness and inspiration.)

05.01.2022 Alcohol and anger. 2 things that do not go together, yet are inevitable. Moderation is the key! Poison to the body - poison to the brain! Yet we do it time and time again.

03.01.2022 Most of us are practicing social distancing right now and that means staying indoors as much as possible. This also means you are skipping the usual gatherings... with friends and family at restaurants and making many meals at home. To ease the burden of meal planning, we have put this easy, phytonutrient rich recipe together that will meet your entire family’s needs. Please let us know in the comments below what other recipe posts you would like to see. Chicken Stir-Fry Serves: 4 cup chopped fresh basil cup chicken broth, divided 3 scallions, thinly sliced, divided 2 cloves garlic 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh ginger 1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts 2 Tbsp. olive oil, divided 1 small unpeeled eggplant, diced 1 medium onion, chopped 1 red bell pepper, cut into thin strips 1 yellow bell pepper, cut into thin strips 2 Tbsp. tamari soy sauce Directions: In a blender or food processor, combine basil, cup of the broth, 2 of the scallions, garlic, and ginger. Pulse until mixture is minced but not pureed. Set aside. Cut chicken breasts into 2 strips. Set aside. In a large skillet, heat 1 Tbsp. oil over medium heat. Add eggplant, onion, and both peppers. Sauté about 8-10 minutes until tender. Transfer to a bowl and keep warm. Add remaining 1 Tbsp. oil to pan and heat over medium heat. Add basil/ginger mixture and sauté, stirring for 1 minute only. Add chicken strips and tamari sauce and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until chicken is almost cooked through. Add remaining cup broth and bring to a boil. Return veggies to pan and stir until heated through, about 3-4 minutes. Transfer to serving dish and garnish with remaining scallion to serve.
