20.01.2022 Would you like to have the opportunity to represent Central Queensland at the National Schools Constitutional Convention in Canberra next year? Yes please! How do I apply? Firstly, you will need to be in Yr 9-11 and represent Tannum Sands SHS at the Queensland Schools Online Constitutional Convention on 21 October. What does this involve? A team of up to 4 students will examine the following issue in preparation for the convention: Is the division of powers decided i...n the 1890s appropriate today? Consider control of Australia’s water as a context for your argument. One student from the team will present a 3 min speech on this issue. I’m interested what do I do now? See Mr Maddock or Mrs Pallett in Staffroom 4 to register your interest. https://education.qld.gov.au/curri/stages-of-schooling/qscc

19.01.2022 House Leaders Sam and Hannah did a great job hosting the term 3 Formal Assembly. Parents had to socially distance and only Years 7 and 11 were in attendance while for the rest of the school it was live streamed to classrooms. Today we officially badged our new leaders, had QATSIF presentations, Gold Card Awards and Student of the Term and celebrated staff long service awards. Our senior rock band performed "Animal" (by Neon Trees) and the choir sang the school song, "Creating Our Futures- Today" beautifully. Congratulations to all involved.
