21.01.2022 On the weekend the stores in Tanunda were hit by professional shoplifters. Unfortunately shoplifting is something that occurs all to often, however this weekend was unprecedented in the sheer number and value of items that were stolen across all stores. A couple in their 30s with a backpack with one distracting staff to remove something from the front window to look at, or taking staff to a different section of the store to ask about a product, while the other hide items into... their backpack. The stores lost jumpers, jewellery, skirts, leather handbags and sunglasses to name some of the items. As store owners it is an awful feeling when people steal from you. So please be understanding if we are more vigilant or you now see a sign up that we would like people to leave backpacks at the counter, this is why. We all thank you for your understanding. Tanunda has such a beautiful street with amazing stores. Thank you for shopping local and support our local businesses.
