25.01.2022 SAVINGS ON STAMP DUTY FOR FIRST HOME BUYERS It can be hard to make big financial decisions, especially right now as we face uncertain times. This is why the NSW Government is making changes to stamp duty thresholds to support new home construction, create jobs and save first home buyers thousands of dollars. The changes to the stamp duty thresholds will only apply to newly-built homes and vacant land, not to existing homes and will last for a 12-month period, commencing 1 August 2020. Other purchasers will continue to benefit from existing schemes. See the images below for what you could save! 20.01.2022 This Saturday will mark the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Pacific (VP Day) and the official end of World War 2. I had the pleasure of visiting our very own World War 2 veteran, Albert, to recognise his bravery, courage and sacrifice. At 102 years old, Albert is still full of humour, life and wit, showing me photographs of his service in WWII when he "was a handsome fella!" Whilst living in COVID-19 is challenging, lets not forget the effort that Albert, and so many... other service men and women, made for our safety. Why not take some time out of your Saturday to commemorate them? Hear stories, tune into a service, watch a flyover or hear the bells toll across Sydney. 18.01.2022 NEW HEALTH ADVICE FOR NSW It is now highly recommended that masks be worn by NSW residents when in public settings where social distancing is hard to maintain. This is in addition to the other COVIDSafe measures already in place (hand hygiene, physical distancing, staying home if unwell and getting tested). Official advice recommends:... - The use of face masks in indoor settings where physical distancing is hard to maintain, e.g. on public transport or in supermarkets - The use of face masks (where practical) in indoor settings with a higher risk of transmission, such as for staff of hospitality and customer-facing venues, e.g. cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs - During attendance at places of worship Please be aware that masks are not suitable for everyone, such as young children. In these cases, it is critical these people be extra vigilant when in public settings and are following all other COVIDSafe measures. Wearing a mask is not mandatory, but highly recommended.
