09.01.2022 School community letter Dear parents, carers, students and staff, Earlier today, the Victorian Government announced that, on the advice of the Victorian Chief Health Officer, regional and rural Victoria will move to Stage 3 restrictions and metropolitan Melbourne will move to Stage 4 restrictions to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).... These requirements apply to all schools across the government, Catholic and independent sectors and across all metropolitan Melbourne and rural and regional Victoria. The changes to schools operations will come into effect from Wednesday 5 August, following a student free day on Tuesday 4 August, and are likely to apply until the end of Term 3. As outlined in the Chief Health Officers advice on Friday, schools remain safe places for staff and students but these steps are critical measures to reduce the movement of students and families across the state. There are implications for our school, and for families in our school community. A summary of what the changes mean for our school is below. RURAL AND REGIONAL VICTORIA PREP TO YEAR 10 Prep to Year 10 students will move to remote and flexible learning. On-site supervision in rural and regional Victoria will be available to: o Children whose parents cannot work from home o Vulnerable children o Any child with a disability TIMELINE Monday 3 August will be a normal day of school under current arrangements, with students attending on site learning asked to take all their necessary learning materials home. Tuesday 4 August will be a student-free day across Victoria to enable teachers, especially in rural and regional Victoria, to prepare for flexible and remote learning. Wednesday 5 August will be the first day of new arrangements for schools across Victoria This is a day ahead of the state-wide introduction of the Stage 3 restrictions in rural and regional Victoria, but will provide for a smooth transition and will enable as much continuity of learning as possible. STAFFING Schools will ensure sufficient staff are available for necessary on site supervision. Staff not required for on-site supervision will work from home. I will provide an update soon about arrangements for remote and flexible learning at our school. Thank you for your understanding and support. Christopher Burgess Principal Taradale PS.

09.01.2022 This morning we have started the day with story time by Sophia

09.01.2022 Dear parents and carers, Tomorrow (Tuesday) is a student free day to allow teachers to prepare for the return to remote learning. Students are not able to attend school tomorrow. On Wednesday we return to remote learning, tomorrow the teachers will be planning for this. Today we will be sending home a work book with the students to use during remote learning. We will email more information about remote learning following our planning day.... During remote learning, on-site supervision will only be available to: Children whose parents cannot work from home Vulnerable children Any child with a disability To enable us to have staff available, families will need to advise the school by the Friday prior if their child needs to attend school at all the following week. If your child needs to attend school on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday this week, please let me know tomorrow. Wherever possible your child must stay at home to reduce the risk of infection. For example, children are not able to attend school for socialising or to have a break from home! If you do not already receive emails form me, please let me know your email address so I can keep you updated during the remote learning period. My email address is [email protected] I will send a further update tomorrow. Thanks, Chris.

04.01.2022 As we farewell our grade six students, I need to mention these three young people. Ilaura, Willen and Aron. They have not only completed 7 years of primary schooling at Taradale PS, they are the first children to undertake all of their primary school education at Taradale since 2011. Way back when they started in 2014 we were a tiny school of five - yes 5 - students. These three have seen so many changes in 7 years as the school has grown from one tiny class to 5 classes a...nd 100 students. They will have so many memories and stories to share in the years to come. Best wishes to all of our grade six children including these three pioneers. Chris. See more
