24.01.2022 Last Wednesday staff and all residents, both from the village and units, joined to share a private BBQ lunch together in conjunction with Seniors Week. It was wonderful to see everyone come out and have a yarn! We even had some residents crack a long-deserved bottle of bubbly. We hope everyone enjoyed their lunch, as well as the company. Special thanks to Royce N Kylie-Anne Spence for manning the BBQ, as well as our wonderful kitchen, activities and personal care staff for keeping everything running smooth.

23.01.2022 They say a photo is worth a thousand words, but this young character is a million stories worth, and more. Hazel Bird is one of the occupants of our independent living units here at Taralga and she’s deserving of a special mention as she’s the editor and creator of the infamous Taralga Buzz newsletter. Hazel has been a resident of Jandowae for little over four years, and has been residing in our unit block for only a few short months. From living in the units and spending ...a great amount of time within Taralga, she became inspired by the liveliness that is behind these sliding doors (hence the name that became The Taralga Buzz), and so decided to share the happenings through a newsletter. Hazel wrote up, and shared her first edition of the Taralga Buzz in January 2017, exclusively with the residents of Taralga. The Taralga Buzz is now shared throughout Jandowae and read by many. Not only is this post to thank Hazel for her wonderful efforts towards the Taralga Buzz, but also to thank the community for chipping in that gold coin, showing support towards both Taralga, and Hazel! June’s Edition will be available at the beginning of next month at Spar, Jandowae Newsagency, Paula’s place and obviously, Taralga!

23.01.2022 Taralga's valuable staff members have dug deep coming into this Christmas Season, between everyone we've been able to put together this marvellous hamper to raffle off. Tickets are only $1 and the winner will be drawn on December 21st.

15.01.2022 The Taralga community would like to extend a massive thank you to everybody involved in the recent fundraisers held. Both the Garden Day and Bowls Day were massive days, but would have not gone so well without the support of our wonderful community. Special mention and thanks goes out to all businesses, families and other individuals who offered donations towards these days. The constant support shown towards this facility is greatly appreciated and acknowledged.

14.01.2022 Residents, Staff and Board Members of Taralga Retirement Village would like to thank the Jandowae Lions Club for their continuing support to Taralga. Recently the Jandowae Lions Club has kindly donated printer paper and money towards printer ink to assist with the printing of the Taralga Buzz which is a newsletter full of interesting stories and information about what is happening around the village and Jandowae and is distributed to all residents of the village and the units which they all look forward to each month.

12.01.2022 This year for Mothers Day we raffled off a beautiful freshwater pearl necklace, kindly donated by Nikki Greep. Many thanks to Nikki for her donation and drawing the raffle, and a massive congratulations to Donna Tanner, who was the lucky winner! Keep an eye on this space for our next raffle!

05.01.2022 On behalf of Taralga I would like to acknowledge the kind donation from the Jandowae Lions Club and their on going support to our facility and our residents. I had the pleasure of being invited as a representative of Taralga to attend the Jandowae Lions Club 38th Change Over on Saturday the 24th of June, to which I attended and gained insight into not only what great our local club does but what Lions do both nationally and internally. I wish to thank the Jandowae Lions Club ...for their donation of which Taralga is going to purchase 3 new Pressure Surface Underlay’s which will be used in conjunction with air mattresses when treating pressure injuries, and a new wall clock which will be installed in the facilities central activities area showing the residents the Day, Date and Time. I also took the opportunity to mention the support that we have already received from the Jandowae Lions Club towards out newsletter ‘The Taralga Buzz’ as there where a number of visiting clubs from surrounding areas which sparked some interest from these clubs and how it operates. Your kind donation will support a better quality of care provided to our residents by our small facility, which relies on the support of the local clubs and community. 02.01.2022 The weather was certainly on our side on Tuesday July 25th, when the Jandowae Garden Club graced us with their presence here at Taralga. The morning was spent enjoying a delicious morning tea, a wonderful display of horticulture and conversing with those who attended. Mornings like this are wonderful opportunities for our residents to have that external community contact, we hope that everyone who attended had a wonderful time also, and we look forward to our next event. Also, thanks Hazel for getting some great photos of the day!
