25.01.2022 With a big THANK YOU to the 2020 sponsors our long awaited season kicked off yesterday at home. Round one the Taralga Tigers v Jindabyne Bushpigs. The match up... was looking doubtful due to the scheduled referee being in lockdown ... Thankfully Jindabyne were able to supply a referee and bundled him into the bus to endure the long road trip. Jindabyne came out strong & had the Tigers under pressure with a 10/0 lead at half time. With some softly spoken words of encouragement from rookie coach Will Hedley at the break, the Tigers were able to gel and play some entertaining rugby, running in four tries in the second half. With a final score being 24 to 10 .. Try scorers Josh Croker, Steve Cummins, Isaac Elliott & Joel Croker. Joel converted 2/4. Even though the Tigers had the upper hand in the second half The Bushpigs never let up and pressed the Tiger’s line for long periods , but credit to the Tigers their defence held solid... Tigers welcomed four new recruits in Tom White , Steve Cummins , Dom Stephens, Mitch Turner and former Tiger junior Carl Elliott . It was great to have the footy back in town and we look forward to the next six rounds .. See more
