17.01.2022 Kyle Flanagan has officially confirmed he will not be at the Sydney Roosters in 2021, admitting he is shocked and disappointed. ___ The Canterbury Bulldogs are... expected to announce his signature, whilst the Roosters are set to pursue Rabbitohs teenager Joseph Suaalii. ___ Flanagan, 22, made the move to the Roosters this season and had a fantastic first season with the tri-colours. ___ He finished the second highest point scorer in the NRL, whilst putting together the following stats over 20 games. ___ 4 tries 91 goals 258 average kick metres 9 line break assists 11 try assists 27 average tackles ___ Statistically he performed higher than other great halfbacks in several key areas, but the Roosters chose to blame their finals loss on him. ___ Personally, I don't agree with the Roosters decision at all and he was still their best halfback option at the club. ___ Are you excited to see Flanno run out in doggies colours? Controversially, David Klemmer, Wade Graham and Mitchell Pearce wer...e all left out of the side. ___ PLAYERS CONFIRMED: Payne Haas, Jake Trbojevic, Tyson Frizell, Cameron McInnes, Daniel Saifiti and Zac Lomax. ___ KLEMMER 2020 STATS 21 games 21 tackle breaks 45 offloads 73 average post-contact metres 16 average hit-ups 172 average metres gained 34 average tackles ___ Given these stats, Klemmer's experience and the impact he's had on previous Origin games, I absolutely cannot believe he was left out. Freddy tried to leave him out last year, until Tariq Sims was suspended, so he clearly isn't a fan of Klemmer's game. ___ GRAHAM 2020 STATS 19 games 4 tries 6 line breaks 3 line break assists 10 offloads 91 average metres gained 29 average tackles ___ Given these stats and the fact Graham has had a relatively quiet year by his standards, his inclusion was 50/50 for me. Edrick persuaded him to stay. Brenko would make his NRL debut in 2014, and then they would play together for the first time in late 2015. - Now 5 years later, and both taking different paths in the NRL, they will team up again for QLD in their Origin debut on Wednesday night.
